Miscalculation of storage space. It's full even though I emptied the trash

I am on a free account with 2gb included. I only have 680mb used but dropbox asks to upgrade and will not sink anymore. It gives a message that I have used 4,5gb out of 2gb!! I don't have any pictures, I emptied the trash... Please help, thank you!

Deleted files do not count towards quota so emptying trash has no effect.

Have you checked to see what is at www.dropbox.com/backups ?

Also, are you in any shares? That uses space as well.
