My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't

Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.

HI @ddco3, could you clarify what the issue is exactly? Are you trying to add that shared folder which is 716 GB onto your account which has a 2 GB limit?

Here is the screen shot.   I selected Documents, but cannot select or deselect subfolders. Within the documents folder. it just selects everything.

Thanks for the screenshots, @dlav2001!

So, is the app not allow you to click on the check box, to deselect the folders you don't want to have backed up?

Can you please quit the app and then re-open it and try again, to see if that helps?

I don’t have the option to do that. I’m assuming it’s because I’m not on a computer.
Any other suggestions on how I can share the screenshot?

That is correct,. I can select the main "Documents" folder" but once in the documents, I can ot deselect folders. That screenshot was from the Dropbox app on my laptop, so as you said to close the app and start again, I have powered off and on my laptop, does that count as closing the app. Same result when I power back on

@Britkit97, you can copy and paste your screenshot in your next reply, if you're not seeing the option to attach the screenshot. Otherwise, try using a desktop machine to attach it.

@dlav2001, it might not be possible to deselect subfolders when using the Dropbox Backup feature on your device.

It says that I am out of storage.  I have 211.1 MB in Regular Files.  I have 1.7 GB in Backup files.  I don't need dropbox to backup my files.  I have carbonite.  How do I disable that and delete the files of the backup?

Hey @Lisab3, thanks for reaching out to us.

If backup files are taking up your space and you'd like to disable the backup feature, you can follow the steps in this article.

I hope this helps!

I am told my basic dropbox is full, but I am informed that with my limited needs it shouldn't be. How do I identify what is taking up this space, and what I can do to get things under the limit
