Problems with storage and syncing (incorrect folder size reported by Dropbox)

Hello, I have a limit of 18,3 GB on my free Dropbox account. After ending my free trial Dropbox Plus period and going back to Dropbox Basic, the app says that I'm currently using 101,7 GB even though there's only 16,2 GB of data in my Dropbox folder. My files stopped syncing because of that. Any suggestions what may have gone wrong and how to solve it? Thanks.
