Hello Dropbox community!
I have just sent a referral link to my auntie to join Dropbox. I was with her to help install dropbox on her Desktop etc. but that didn't add any extra space on my Dropbox in return. I see that many have had this problem. Can anyone please help?
Hi, You'll need to install and sign into the desktop app on a unique computer to be able to get the referral bonus space.
You and the person who invited you, can only receive the referral space, if you install and sign in to the Dropbox application on a laptop or desktop computer.

As I wrote in my post, I did install dropbox on the desktop of my auntie. I did that for her because she's not a computer expert as I am. But none of us did get extra space. Is there a way someone can investigate?

I’d like you to clarify one more thing for me, so that we can look into this further; before installing the desktop app on her device, did you click on the referral link you sent her, in order to create a new Dropbox account for her?
I’d like to make sure that you followed all the steps described here, in order to complete the process.

That must have been the culprit, since the IP seems to have been the same, therefore causing some issues there.
Would it be okay for me to reach out via email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?

Hi! yes of course do reach out via email. Just to clarify my previous answer: I've sent the invite through my mobile phone to my auntie. I then helped her open and install it on her computer by clicking on the link she received via email. We then signed into the account with a new email and password. thanks
