Why does a shared folder take up space in the other member's account?

Why does a shared folder take up space in the other member's account?

Can someone tell me why, when I share access to a folder, it is taking up space in the person's folder who i granted access too?  Are they doing something wrong on their end or is this just how dropbox works?

Hey @lckp, thanks for posting your question today.

Indeed, it's expected for shared folders to take up space in the account of all the members.

This happens because all members have read and write access to the folder. You can see more details about this here.

Let me know if you have any questions!
