Syncing files already synced

My desktop dropbox is constantly resyncing one specific file on my computer which contains hundreds of files whithin its package contents (for those mac users). 

The actual file hasnt been touched for almost a week, yet dropbox feels the need to constantly be syncing it, and it just takes up internet speed and upload speed for my more important files.

 

Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

 

Macbook pro (2012)

OSX Sierra

 

Not sure if relevant, but the file is a FCPX library that I often edit from different computers and therefore need it to constantly be up to date - normally easily done with dropbox.

thanks for reaching out to us.  Anytime an OS or a service reads a file, it thinks it changed.  Some files update the metadata and thus the OS notices the change and Dropbox is notified and thus it syncs although nothing visible has changed but it changed the metadata.  I am not 100% sure about your particular file but I know that any Microsoft Office files, this would be true

Are you suggesting that the metadata is constantly being changed?
As soon as it finishes syncing, a few seconds later it starts up again. This doesn't seem normal.

I know that certain types of files metadata changes without intervention.  I am not sure about your files.  Perhaps you may have permission issues, try do what this article says to do to fix permissions here: https://www.dropbox.com/help/syncing-uploads/stuck-syncing  although if you still have issues, you might consider filling out an Support Ticket https://www.dropbox.com/support
