The desktop app is stuck on "Syncing", what should I do?

My dropbox stopped working and seems to be stuck on "Syncing..." and uploading files already that were uploaded to the cloud. There is no progress or status other than that.

In windows explorer, nearly all of the folders with no changes and were previously synced have the sync blue icon.

I have slow upload (<<100kb/s) and it seems like it will take possibly months for it to work again if it is indeed erronously re-uploading files to the cloud.

Can you try restarting the desktop app to see if this resolves it? You will need to click the Dropbox icon in the system tray near the time display, click the gear icon and then choose “Exit Dropbox”. Then relaunch the app and see if the sync is still stuck with only “Syncing”.
 
Otherwise, please download and install the current version of app and let me know if you see the folders/files that are showing as syncing in your Dropbox account online.

Hey @Robert2019, welcome to the discussion!
 
Can you let me know if the folders that are showing as syncing on your desktop app show in your account online?
 
If so, I would suggest unlinking and relinking your device (if you have a Dropbox Basic account, please bear in mind the device limit).

I have already tried restarting and reinstalling the latest version of Dropbox but it didn't help.

 

I'm going to try an "advanced" reinstall https://help.dropbox.com/desktop-web/advanced-reinstall

Doing a complete "advanced" reinstall as per the above link seems to have solved the issue. It now says: syncing 136,000 files, 40 minutes remaining.

I’m glad to hear that the advanced reinstall worked @Dave M.53, great job on the troubleshooting there! Let me know if there is any other issues with syncing on your device.
 
@Robert2019, are you still having the same issue shown in your screenshots? Did you try the steps mentioned above in my or Dave’s reply?

I've tried using "unlinking and relinking" and "advanced reinstall", but it still stuck on syncing
I just checked my dropbox account on webpage and found the issue began around 6 days before
Any suggestion for me? Thanks!
