File permission granularity

New member | Level 2

Dear all,

In our company, we need to set permission folders with a deep granularity. For example, if we have the following folders:

/root
/root/project 1
/root/project 1/Finance
/root/project 1/Workspace
/root/project 2
/root/project 2/Finance
/root/project 2/Workspace

We need to allow

- for an employee A a full access to project 1 & 2

- for an employee B a partial access to project 1/workspace & project2/workspace

- for an employee C a partial access to project 1/finance & project2/finance

- for an employee D a partiel access to only project1/workspace

- etc.

This example is "easy" to configure manually, but we need to find a way to configure automatically as with a script, a json file, etc for every new employee.

How may we do that ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi there @jdenies, thanks for reaching out to us here!

At the moment, there isn't currently a way to do this through scripts or a process like this I'm afraid.

However, maybe "Groups" will allow you to achieve the same process.

You can set up certain Groups to have access to the correct folders in your set up. Then when a new employee joins the team, you just add them to the corresponding Group.

Would something like that work for you?

Let me know if this helps!

Sorry that I couldn't be of much more help with that @jdenies!

If there's anything else that I can help with though, don't hesitate to get back to me here.

Have a wonderful day!
