I'd like to add some more Quota to my Dropbox Advanced team & I've already submitted a ticket.

Explorer | Level 3

I am the administrator of a Dropbox Enterprise set of accounts. In our contract it says that they offer "unlimited" storage space. However, we see an actual (dynamic) limit in our account that, they (Dropbox team) say, is for operative reasons. The theory is that once we reach some percentage of the assigned storage (say, ~98% of the assigned quota), the system should "automatically" increase our quota by a few terabytes (~3Tb- 5Tb). While this has happened in the past, it is not happening now. We are already a few days over the assigned (fake/virtual) quota and, as a result, our files do not synchronize. I am really annoyed by the (non) reply of the Dropbox team, since making our account operative is just a matter of seconds (it has happened to me in previous cases where we run above the assigned quota). My question is, has this problem happened to any of you? If so, how often? We are more than desperate by the lack of synchronization of the files (the problem is already happening since 3 days!). I find this situation very unprofessional, and we are even considering going for legal actions (the lack of synchronization is delaying one of our critical projects). So, if any of you have the same problem, we may coordinate our actions.

Hey @miguel6, I understand that you’d like to expedite resolution & I'm here to help as much as I can on my end!

Following-up from your post here, I’ve located your open ticket on our specialists’ inbox & I’ve increased your Support priority internally. It would more efficient to continue discussing that with them via the same email chain, as that‘s an account-specific issue.

I’ve also included a copy of your comments emphasizing the urgency of the matter, so that our higher-level technicians take those into consideration as they’re reviewing your case.

I hope that this helps to a certain extent & please feel free to touch-base with me here should you have any follow-up inquiries or thoughts. Thanks!

Many thanks for your prompt reply (much quicker than that of the support team -so far not useful at all-). I really thank for your initiative to push forward our request in the support team list. Any help is really appreciated. However, I am concerned about the fact that paying for the Enterprise version of Dropbox, we do not "automatically" jump to the top of the priority list. Besides, the main problem I see is that the automatic mechanism to raise the quota does not work. Indeed, this mechanism fails when the storage needs are more acute, namely, when there are peaks of storage requests in the team, compromising the viability of critical projects. If this is how a business solution is designed to work, it clearly fails when it is more needed, rendering it useless.

Hey again @miguel6, I could see that your request has been closed on our system & it looks like your initial inquiry has been addressed.

I’m just getting back in touch with you to confirm that our Business users are prioritized on our system by default & we’re trying to ensure that they reach resolution as soon as possible. That being said, certain requests need specific tooling &/or permissions to perform & that may affect the turnaround

The current way to auto-add quota aims to simplify the process while preventing abuse. That being said, I understand your concern & the need to cater to your team’s storage requirements, so I’d suggest monitoring your space usage through your Dashboard & call in to my colleagues, in order to expedite matters in the future.

As an alternative option, I’m always around, so you could quickly nudge me here & I could create a ticket on your behalf & escalate to a team specialist if need be.

Thanks again for choosing Dropbox & I’m always here if you need further assistance in any way!
