Why Dropbox can not send purchase order for Business Account with 5 licenses

I had a business account of 5 licenses.

My university prevents using university GPC card to purchase software so the only way to pay is though purchase order but clearly Dropbox dose not send purchase order for that amount of licenses. 

Is that against of regulation/law???

Sorry I was not clear (too angry), it should be invoice. Dropbox's finance department does not send invoice for business account with 5 licenses. I just found it is rediculous. I am checking what is the customer law.

Here is the UK government's regulation:

If you sell a customer a product or a service, you need to give them an invoice (bill) by law if both you and the customer are registered for VAT (a business to business transaction). An invoice is not the same as a receipt, which is an acknowledgement of payment.

The invoice must include certain information such as:

  • how much the customer needs to pay you
  • when the customer must pay you

Hey there (@Earlgrey), as you’ve mentioned that you’re currently unable to renew with your University credit card, I’m wondering if you wish to renew your subscription by manual invoice. Have you contacted our team on this matter by any chance? I'm merely asking, as we can only troubleshoot payment-related matters via this channel. If so, in order to check back on your request on my end, please include a ticket# in your next reply here. 
 
(Note: Your ticket number should be a 7-digit number, which allows us to look for your ticket on our system. You should be able to see it in the email heading that you receive as soon as you submit your request.)

[Edit: From there, kindly bear in mind that your account renewal is automatically scheduled, so you should be able to see your Invoices & Receipts through the Billing tab on your admin console (i.e. if you're the team admin).]

Hi Jane,

Both your online support and the account manager taking care my account confirmed that your finance department dose not send invoice for my request as the linsence number does not reach to the level of billing. I can forward the account manager's email.

Neither in the admin cosole I could see invoice unless I missed something.

I have been down-graded to normal Dropbox user since the card payment issue persists. Now if I choose to "resubscribe", the payment options are card or Paypal, but no invoice/PO option.

I appreciate the additional details (@Earlgrey), let me further clarify matters a bit & we’ll take it from there! 
 
As an initial point of reference, it would be worth noticing that you should’ve been able to access your Invoices & Receipts on your admin console for as long as your account was upgraded. In other words, you should’ve been able to see the Invoice that was issued when your account was up for renewal.
 
As you’ve mentioned that your account has been downgraded now, we can either enquire about the invoice that was issued prior to the downgrade or we can review your options moving forward. While manual invoicing (for payments done by check or bank wire) can currently be offered for teams with 10 or more licenses, I’m here to help you on that as much as I can.
 
In order to further advise on the matter, I’ve sent you a brief message on the email connected to your Forum profile. You may have a look at your inbox at your earliest convenience if you’d like us to work on that together.

Hi Jane,

To my knowledge I have not seen the invoice when I still could see the invoice but I did see the receipts. 

But however the current matter is Dropbox's policy you referred "While manual invoicing (for payment by check or bank wire) can currently be offered for teams with 10 or more licenses" is not correct in my opinion, based on the regulation. Happy to communicate further by email.

I would like to update here:

Dropbox is not willing to send invoice for business account of 5 liecenses (they require minimum 10 liencenses to send a "manual invoice") and my university refused to pay by credit card and can only pay invoice. Therefore the situation is very awkward.

 

Never met this kind of situation with any suppliers so far
