Why does it take so long to upload my files from my computer?

Why does it take forever (4+) hours for my files from my computer to upload? They still havent uploaded yet and its been (12.5) hours...

Because they are large? Because your internet isnt very fast? Because your internet is being used for other things? 

Dropbox's speeds are totally restricted to your own ISP's speeds. Remember that upload speeds are often only a tiny percentage of download ones. And also if its the initial upload the files do take time until the folder structure etc. is created.
