Choosing File/Folder In Browser Has Changed

Choosing File/Folder In Browser Has Changed

While viewing my files in the browser (Chrome)...starting today when I would normally just click once to view or click once to enter a folder, now it's one click marks/selects the file/folder and double click will view or open folder.  I feel like an idiot, for the life of me can not figure out how this was changed and can't seem to find an option to revert it back to a single click.

This was corrected on the server side.  If you are having this issue, you need request a ticket to be put in.  It can not be fixed on the user side.

Nothing has changed and there are no settings to change the behavior. Clicking the white space around a file or folder name will select it, while clicking on the actual file or folder name will open it.

I must not be explaining the issue clearly.  There are two options, they are clearly shown it these two images side by side.  You can tell from the cursor's reaction change when hovering...one is the 'arrow' and other is the 'finger'.  The 'arrow' is making me double click on my option, were as the 'finger' is a single click.  I know it's an account specified setting, and not a PC...because I log in as myself and I have to double click...my staff member logs in on the same PC and he still has the single click.  Hope this make my issue clearer...just tough to explain.

But there are no settings that control that function. There's no way to change whether a file or folder opens with a single click or a double-click.

Have you cleared your browser's cache/browsing history or tried a different browser, as a test?

Yes, all history was deleted...no change.  Plus, logged in from another computer and it makes me still double click to view files/folders.  So, let me get this straight...you are saying there is no option between single click/double click.  I've been using DropBox almost from the beginning...been a user for many years and always been clicking once to view...so out of these two results I have shown, which one is 'normal'?

Also tried in Microsoft Edge...same issue.  Need to double click to view file or open folder.

Hey @Gregg Hall, if you hover right on the file name, you'll get the "hand" icon of your mouse, that will open files and folders with a single click.

But if your mouse is not on the file/folder name, but just really really close to it (doesn't matter if it's above, under, left, right), you'll get the arrow and you'll need to double-click.

Can you try and let me know what you find?

It doesn't seem to matter where the cursor lands.  Hard not to describe what I'm seeing so...here is a YouTube video I posted to show my issue.  Again, I can log on a different computer and it does the same.  But, log off and have someone else log in as them...back to normal.  https://youtu.be/TEiqYqyIcgY

How about in an Incognito/Private browsing session, with all add-ons disabled, just as a test?

Correct. There are no settings which control that.

Hard not to describe what I'm seeing ...

I think you've described it perfectly adequately, it's just the the results are somewhat surprising. I usually use Firefox (where it works as expected) but I just tested it with Edge and the results are the same as in Firefox. Here's a screen capture showing it. At no point did I double-click. Everything was a single-click.

Incognito produced the same result, no luck.  https://youtu.be/4-hJYmT1EVM

That was worth a shot...never thought of Incognito mode.  I'm gonna laugh if this all of a sudden corrects itself in a couple of days.
