View, download, and export
Need support with viewing, downloading, and exporting files and folders from your Dropbox account? Find help from the Dropbox Community.
I use Outlook web-based. I was downloading a file from my email to my laptop desktop. When I do that is says it will delete from all locations. Never did that before. I want to download the file but still leave a copy in my dropbox as I have done in the past.
Hey @esoiles, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Is it possible that you enabled the Dropbox backup feature which enables you to backup your computer's OS folders to Dropbox at some point perhaps? Or is the location for your downloads inside your Dropbox folder?
Could you send me a screenshot of the app's exact status and version as shown in your system tray/menu bar?
Any additional information is more than welcome!

that took for ever to find. Sorry this is not my gift
Hey @esoiles, thanks for your response.
This is actually a screenshot of our plans page, but it's okay.
This error message in your first post appears when you download a file, right?
This indicates that your files are getting downloaded to the Dropbox folder.
If you follow these steps below, can you find and let us know what the location of your downloads is?
