Dropbox icons not showing, only iCloud icons

Dropbox icons not showing, only iCloud icons

For some strange reason, there are no Dropbox icons telling me which files are online only / offline. The only icon showing is the iCloud icons which I have no real use for.

The files with iCloud links also seem to be constantly downloading.

Hi @mitchloughnan, welcome to our Community!

These icons look indeed like iCloud icons. What options do you get when right clicking the file? Are you able to make it available offline or online-only?

If you could also clarify the syncing status of the app, along with its version, that'd be amazing.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

I get all the normal Dropbox options when I right click a folder or file.

Sync Status is all up to date. Nothing syncing at all.

Thanks!

Hi @mitchloughnan, if you temporarily pause iCloud, are you able to see the Dropbox icons present there?

Can you relaunch “Finder” using the following steps?

           - Click on the Apple icon in the top left of your screen

           - Click on "force quit"

           - Select “Finder,” then click "Relaunch"

Is there a way to temporarily pause iCloud? I've tried relaunching Finder and the Dropbox app but it's still the same. When I make a folder or file available offline, it has the green tick, but as soon as I make it online-only it goes back to the iCloud symbol — I really need to be able to see whats on & offline in my Dropbox folder.

Hey @mitchloughnan! Hope you don’t mind me jumping in.

It looks like the syncing icons you’re seeing are expected following the Dropbox update for macOS. You can also check them out here.

Just to make sure everything’s working properly though, can you let me know what’s the syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app?
