Pathway Issues on windows with drop box

Pathway Issues on windows with drop box

Hi There,

I am wondering if anyone has come accross this issue before, generally seems to be happening to PDFs saved on drop box, the file path when viewed on windows become \\?\C:\ instead of the normal C:\, this in turn does not allow me to open the PDF files, only one work around i found is to copy and paste the file to a separate EMPTY folder, this allows me to open the PDF and the path way goes back to the normal C:\,

For some reason if there is a file in the folder this will not fix the issue instead the cut and pasted file again has the weird pathway.

anyone know a fix or experienced before please let me know (only happening on drop box, files saved to internal storage have no issues....yet)

Hi @Fishgosquish, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

What program are you using to open the PDF files? Is it only PDF files that have this issue?

Have you tried quitting the Dropbox desktop application and seeing if the issue persists for files in the Dropbox folder?

This will help me to assist further!
