certain mp4's wont download to ios device from dropbox

I cant seem to figure out how to compress a file (from my phone) that is on my dropbox already, so that I can download it out of dropbox and onto my phone. DO I need to go do copressing on my computer and then add it back into dropbox before downloading onto my phone?

Unfortunately, the answer is going to be no. You cannot compress a file in Dropbox from the mobile app.

So, yes, what you suggested would be the optimal workaround.
