Smaller thumbnail previews on web app, was there a redesign?

Smaller thumbnail previews on web app, was there a redesign?

The web app looks much worse now, and less user-friendly.

When I view photos/folders in the "large grid" view, the thumbnails are much smaller & there's a gray box of blank space around the folder.

This means I see a smaller preview, and makes it harder to quickly review folders full of photos.

Has anyone else had this change happen? Can I revert back to the old design somehow?

Hi @Tyto, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Are you viewing images on the photos tab, or the files page on your account on the site?

This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay, I am using the "files" page.

The "photos" tab has good previews, but it's useless because I can't filter it by folder.

The "files" page is essential for our business, as we review dozens of folders with hundreds of photos on a daily basis, and the recent change makes this review process much more difficult.

The photo thumbnails are much smaller, and there is so much wasted space due to the gray boxes around all the files. Do I need to explain more why it's so bad?

We have been using Dropbox for years, and this recent change is making me consider changing to a different company.

I agree with Tyto. DropBox is practically useless now as the photos are so small I need to open them individually, which defeats the purpose of the grid. When can you change back to a larger grid?

Hi @Tyto,

Thanks for providing this feedback - it really does help us improve the product. We've also recently heard similar feedback from other users. I work on the product team here at Dropbox and we're working on a solution that will give users more control over the size of the tiles on grid view. Stay tuned!

Will this change come soon? The tiles are so small I can't review them at all! Very frustrating when trying to show them as a group to a client. And even when clicking on an individual photo it appears quite small. It should be LARGE when selected. Please keep in touch soon.
