What’s new in Paper - December 2017

December 2017

We’ve made some improvements to how Paper works in your browser and on your phone or tablet.

On the web

New

  • Microsoft Outlook calendar integration. Connect your Microsoft Outlook calendar to quickly create meeting notes—your event’s info will be added to a meeting template automatically. When you’re ready to share the doc, just click Invite and emails for meeting attendees will be right there waiting. (Learn how to connect your calendar).
  • Smart meeting notes. After you link a Paper doc to one of your Google or Outlook calendar events, you’ll be able to find that doc in a flash right when you need it.

Fixed

Several issues related to working with tables are fixed now.
  • You can now add bulleted and numbered lists or checklists within tables.
  • Bullets would disappear from table cells once you started editing a table. Now, they stay just where you left them.
  • The button to add new rows to tables was sometimes covered by the Table of Contents on the left. That button is no longer hiding.

Mobile

New

  • Redesigned iPad app. Take advantage of the extra screen space with a redesigned Paper app for tablets. The new design shows a navigation panel next to open docs, making it easier to navigate around and switch between docs.
  • New iOS and Android apps—including to-do list creation, a redesigned editing toolbar, and a new commenting experience. With a new editing toolbar, it’s easy to make edits and create to-dos from the Paper Android and iOS apps. We’ve also added a new mobile commenting interface, which shows comments in-line with relevant parts of the document and brings one of our favorite features—stickersto mobile.

Fixed

  • Android: There was no good way to add mentions to a doc when your contact wasn’t associated with a name. Now, all you need is the email address of the person.
  • iOS: Comments weren’t filling the screen in landscape mode. This is fixed.
  • iOS: On iPad, after double-tapping an image to zoom in, when you closed the image, your doc was no longer centered. This is no longer the case.

I use dropbox paper for project managers to input daily information, reports, pictures etc from jobsites (each job has a seperate document).  The app is easy to use and we like it however sometomes information accidently gets deleted.  I know i can restore the document but im not alwsays in a position to do so.  Is there a way to make information in the document undeleteable by users.  thanks

Really enjoying the simplicity of paper. Collaborating with colleagues across 4 continents, over 20 cities using paper. Organizing webinars, knowledge sharing & more.

Would love the ability to sort table columns
