Just an update (I've been away for 2 days). I see that my version is now v14.3.17 and seems back to normal (icon has a green checkmark and the "Smart Sync" message is gone). However, reading through this thread questions remain as to "Smart Sync" itself.. - Why is there no information (that I could find) about "Smart Sync" in the Help Center or Beta testers area? - Is "Smart Sync" 3rd-party code? - Is (or was) it just a 'beta' version inclusion? - Why was a user told that "Smart Sync" wasn't the responsibility of Dropbox and to seek assistance from them without providing any contact information? I can only speak for myself, but prompt and trusted support for those who opt into a beta program is essential. Access to current information from Dropbox beta team, if not by a KB or wiki, needs to be available in this forum to those running beta versions. I understand that there is proprietary information involved, and depending on staffing/workload, and management priorities, keeping something like a wiki/KB up to date could be a challenge, but some degree of balance should be maintained, that is, if Dropbox wants engaged and more effective beta testers and not just beta guinea pigs. I haven't engaged with this community until now, so I'm speaking from a position of semi-ignorance where members and company representation is concerned. The status page says there are "no problems today", so we're all having 'local'/system issues?
