Question about ideas thread duration policy.
Hello, This is a question for Dropbox staff. I've noticed that recent ideas threads are being closed by Dropbox staff after exactly one month, citing "inactivity" as the reason. I'm curious to understand the rationale behind this practice. Given that ideas currently face visibility challenges on the platform, a one-month window may not provide sufficient time for community engagement. Additionally, I'm wondering about the necessity of closing these threads at all, since they don't appear to consume additional system resources. Thanks, Andrew (DBoxTips)
I see an invalid html tags error when publishing a new post on Community.
Got this error when trying to publish a new discussion, suggest that I had a p (data-setdir) tag that I needed to remove. Can't figure out what that is and how to fix it. Can't believe that, after all the posts I've done in Dropbox Community, I suddenly need help on how post a new help discussion................but all help or thoughts are welcome. Suddenly I'm having trouble loading Dropbox PDFs (either saved as from JPEGs on Dropbox or created with Dropbox scanner) into Microsoft Word. "New" issues: PDF exceeds "maximal page size" - How can I change the default page size on Dropbox PDF scanner? Text in/on the Dropbox PDF is not OCR. Even after going through the trouble of changing the PDF size, the text is not OCR (not readable when loading or inserting in to Microsoft Word document and/or cannot be selected, copied, and pasted). Can my daughter use part of my Dropbox?
Hi there I have an 10 year old kid, and set her up with her own DB. However, the moment I shared a folder with her (which has photos and videos from an event she went to) it reached 2.1GB and maxed out. I have a 2TB account and just want to be able to let her use part of MY DB to store her pics and videos. She's too young to have her own account really. I can't move to a Family account as that would be a lot less space than I am currently using in mine (I have over a decade of content in it). Is there any way to make a folder which I can share with her, and she uses my storage space and not hers?How to create a shared area for non-Dropbox users.
I am needing to provide a place for a couple of videographers to upload files to my Dropbox so I can include them in my edits. When I created a shared file and sent it to them, they respond that they are asked to create a Dropbox account of their own to access my link. I just need them to upload their video files to my account - they don't need to have their own Dropbox accounts. Is there a way around this requirement to create accounts for these non-Dropbox users to access a shared directory?
Can't create MS Word docs in Dropbox anymore
I'm a long-term user of Dropbox and I love it's use ability and function. To my dismay, in the past year or so I seem to have lost the ability to create Microsoft Word documents in Dropbox. This is a feature I used regularly, and now it seems to be a long and clumsy process. Let me explain how it used to work and now doesn't. I would go into Dropbox on my Android phone, Select the folder I wanted to create the Microsoft Word document in and then Select the "Plus Symbol" found in the blue circle 🔵 found floating on lower right hand corner (that option is still there) after selecting the Plus Sign we are presented with an option to "Create or upload file" After selecting that option, I would be presented with a drop-down list of files I could create. These would include the 3 native Dropbox options of "Paper" "Text File" & 'Upload Files" as well as a list of Microsoft file types, which included MS Word & Excel and maybe PowerPoint. I would then select MS Word, and a MS Word document would be created and MS Word App would be seamlessly be activated and away I would go, creating content and saving it safely in Dropbox. Happy days! Now unfortunately when I select "Create or upload file" only the 3 native Dropbox options appear, no longer can I select a Microsoft Document type. I'm not sure why this change has occurred, and there is a work around I've found, but it's clumsy and time consuming and certainly doesn't have the elegance of what I was used to with seamless integration and function. My question is, how can I get the elegant integrated "create" MS Word option/ solution in Dropbox back, I don't want a clumsy work around.File Request from "Create" menu no longer working
Creating a file request through "Create" menu in the destination folder on the website no longer creates a file request with the destination folder auto populated. Instead, it just brings me to the File Request section and forces me to set it up manually. Was this change intentional? Can this be fixed ASAP?
