Dropbox keeps downloading files although new files are set to sync as online-only
I run my computers via both fibre-based internet as well as via limited cellular network. The problem always has been -- even though 'on-line only' is selected -- dropbox always downloads. Primarily if a file has been uploaded on another computer and downloads consistently on my other computer -- even though 'on-line only' is selected. My files are typically 300Mb - 3gb so it is most troublesome. I use dropbox both as a 3tb backup of my data as well as sharing with a couple of people certain folders. Regardless, if a new file has been uploaded it still downloads onto another computer using my data up. So have had to uninstall Dropbox. Also, I run Carbon copy ... of which only changes/adds files that are new. But again ... Dropbox insists on uploading all files. Very painful. Is there something I am missing. (Mac user) cheers
Our large PDF file has been separated into individual files after uploading to Dropbox via app.
Hi, I was recently asked to upload a large file set from our local storage to dropbox. We basically dragged and dropped into the dropbox app... however now that we are looking at the data, it has separated our multi page PDF files into a new PDF file, one for each page!!! Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to reverse this or at the very least keep it from happening again? Thanks!
Cannot open downloaded Zip due to "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2)
I am trying to download photos from my photographer's Dropbox account to my external hard drive. When I try to open the Zip (which shows size 7.53GB), I receive this error: "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2 - No such file or directory.)" I see that many other people have this issue. How can it be resolved?
Can't watch videos from my computer when uploaded from my phone to a shared folder.
I have a shared folder with my business partner that we upload videos of property walkthroughs in. We can watch these videos from our phone, but when we try to open them up a computer the audio will play but the screen is black. Is anybody else dealing with this issue and know what the fix is?
I put all files available offline, but Dropbox doesn't download them.
Hi! I recently bought a new Macbook and wanted to sync my files to my new computer. Unfortunately, I am unable to download all the files. They are mostly kept in the cloud. I changed the preferences to offline in the Dropbox settings, but this did nothing. What to do? I need to have all my files available offline, because the cloud version prevents me from searching files and file contents via Spotlight and browsing through pictures is a drag. I have the latest Dropbox, 2TB subscription, Macbook M3 Pro, all the latest updates.Why is there picture rotation when importing files into Microsoft Photo Editor from Dropbox?
I shared a link to my dropbox for a file with photos. The person I shared it to opened the file in Microsoft Photo Editor, All the pictures were rotated 90 degrees from their orientation in dropbox. I have a cookbook in Dropbox so I can share it with my grandchildren. I created a new recipe today Potato Soup in Word and saved it to Dropbox. It shows up on my HP laptop where I created and saved it, but I went to Dropbox on my iPhone so I could create a link and text it to them, but it doesn't show up on my iPhone. The rest of the cookbook is on my iPhone.
