Hi, I've noticed that the current version of Dropbox (v213.4.4597) on my Linux setup (Ubuntu 24.04.1) seems to stall and not appear to sync after a certain time once started. I have tested my internet connection and there doesn't appear to be an issue with that (I've updated the Wi-Fi connection, using a different dongle, and have tried wired internet, and I am getting c. 250Mbps down and 50Mbps up, and can web browse and download whatever), and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client (and the daemon) but the behaviour doesn't change. It seems that, very specifically, it happens when files are being uploaded on that machine to my Dropbox, and files are being downloaded from my Dropbox to my machine simultaneously. Eventually the files are uploaded and things 'unblock', but it can take hours for the situation to resolve. Is this an issue with this version? Is there anything else I can try to resolve this?60Views0likes7CommentsMy Windows computer won't sync to Dropbox.
My plan is plus. I tried re-downloading and re-synchronizing, but they all failed. I also asked customer service but no follow-up response. My native language is Chinese, so I am asking questions through a translator. Please forgive me if the grammar or semantics may be weird. I hope there are some capable people passing by who are willing to help and see how to solve the problem.QQ19Views0likes1CommentMy files are not syncing to my Mac computer
Hi, I have multiple folders I would like to sync in the dropbox app; however, only one folder's content syncs. The other I can see, but the content does not sync and it is stuck syncing. I see no evidence of indexing or "x files to go". I have tried reinstalling and rebooting the app, logging out, relinking my account to no avail. Thank you in advance for your help!13Views0likes1CommentBring back File Request option in File Explorer.
I used to be able to initiate a "Request Files" by right clicking on the file I wanted the documents to go into. This is more efficient that having to go to the web version, as I 99.9% work out of the File Explorer on my PC. Please bring back the option to "Request Files" in the right click menu.3KViews10likes40CommentsI'm seeing a green checkmark next to my Mac folders, even though their files are still syncing.
I've been in contact with support about what I was convinced was a bug. But they are suggesting it's expected behavior. Before, if you had a folder with some files still syncing to the cloud, the icon on the folder would show a sync-in-progress-icon. Now it's showing a green checkmark. This makes me very confused every time. I think the icon on the folder should reflect the fact that not all files have been synced to the cloud.23Views0likes4CommentsWhy are folders that I've unchecked in my app settings not removed from my Mac hard drive?
Unexpectedly all my online Dropbox folders are now appearing in my Dropbox folder on my Mac hardrive, despite all the folders showing unchecked in the sync function in preferences. Am I doing something wrong?Solved35Views1like4CommentsNew Computer Sync issue Mac: Seeing offline folders in Finder
I'm starting with a new Mac but a long-time Dropbox and Mac user. In the past when I do this, I've been able to see all of my folders/file in my Dropbox folder on my computer, even though they are online only with Selective Sync. Now, within my Dropbox Folder in the Finder, I can only see files/folders that are synced locally. I can then take them offline, but it seems that I have to make them online first-- likely one-by-one, or a-few-by-a-few, as I don't have enough space on my drive for all of them. I'm trying to figure out how to do that more efficiently. In the past, this happened automatically. My goal is to be able to see the names of all of my Dropbox content folders in my Finder, while keeping them online only. In the past, when selectivelynot bringing everything online, the folder and content names still appeared in my Finder. What am I missing? Also, I'm seeing info about "Dropbox for macOS on File Provider", which might clear up (or exacerbate) this problem. I've read a little bit about it, but am leery to try. Thanks in advance for any help!Solved44Views2likes5CommentsInstalled Dropbox on another laptop but can't see my files in file explorer
On my old Windows 11 laptop, and still working, I have Dropbox and everything is flagged as On Line Only. In File Manager I see my Dropbox structure of folders. I select a file and it is downloaded and I use as appropriate. All is good. I purchased a new windows laptop and installed Dropbox and indicated on install that I wanted everything the same - On Line Only. In Dropbox on my new laptop with File Manager I now see nothing! I was expecting to see all my folders and files within them. I was not expecting the files to be downloaded. So, - Should I see the folder structures and the filenames in what I have done? Orshould I indicate that I want everything available and so get the folder structures and files on my new laptop then go through and flag everything as only online (as I have on my old laptop)? And if this is the case do I need to re-install and change those initial options to available off line? Thanks for reading and any pointers would be appreciatedSolved39Views0likes3CommentsMy files are waiting to update after backing up and restoring my Mac computer.
I am using a MACBOOK Pro OS Sequoia 15.1. I recently had my computer backed up and then restored. Ever since, my Dropbox App is not syncing with my web based dropbox. This is what it looks like Andy ideas?40Views0likes7CommentsMy Dropbox is stuck syncing/indexing 65000+ files on my Mac device.
My dropbox is syncing nonstop, states 65000+ items are indexing. It's been like this for over a month, and it's been affecting my ability to copy files and folders, both to local storage and external. I tried quitting dropbox and reopening several times. Even updated and restarted my Mac several times but the number of items kept going up. Dropbox version: v211.4.6008 Macos: 15.190Views0likes14Comments
