Can you change Dropbox to Selectively sync only selected folders AND a switch to give an option to leave the other folders alone, still on the local PC under folder Dropbox. At present unticked folders in Selective sync are DELETED locally. The reason for this request is to reduce computer CPU & memory use which is excessive if are syncing 1.5Tb and 1,000s of files. I need all folders present all the time and a fast computer without having to disable Antivirus.8Views0likes1CommentI can't sync folders to my computer after my hard drive crashed
My hard drive containing the folders mapped to my local drive was broken, so I reinstalled Dropbox on another hard drive on my computer. But when I wanted to remap the folders to the local file explorer, there was a problem. Specifically, I wanted to map the folders to the local drive and save the data to the cloud, but I couldn't do it. I could only download the data to the local hard drive to see the folders saved in the cloud in the local file explorer; that is, I couldn't "save data only to the cloud" when I right-clicked my mouse. I use a Windows 10 laptop, and my email account is in a family group.11Views0likes1CommentI can't paste the screenshots I capture on Windows
For some reason I cannot pate the screenshots after I press "Print Screen". I have dropbox on my pc set to copy link when image is ready and then there is a pop up on the bottom right when I take a picture and it says "press ctrl+v to copy" BUT IT DOESN'T work at all!108Views0likes14CommentsDropbox Lite - "Can't upload. Please try again later."
Running into the error listed in the topic title. This is a fresh Dropbox Lite install. I've approved the login via email. The app was able to create a folder, but it refuses to upload any files. My storage is not full. I've tried multiple connectivity types (Wifi and cellular). I've restarted the app. No unusual characters are used in the filename. I've tested with a brand new .txt file as well on a different drive; same issue. Doesn't appear to be any status disruptions. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!117Views0likes5CommentsCannot see the files shared with me in my finder.
Hi! I can see my dropbox folders&files in the finder. However, I cannot see the 'files' shared with me in my finder. Please note, files that were shared with me is not in a folder - just the excel documents were shared. On the other hand, I can see the shared files on the dropbox item attached to menu bar (top dock). Please help!20Views0likes1CommentHow can I sync the files I see on the browser with my Mac desktop app?
How can I sync files that are on Dropbox and viewable in a browser with a new Mac Mini running the latest Mac OS and latest Dropbox desktop app? If I try to download the files it comes up with a conflict message. I’m sure it used to be possible to just select what you wanted synced at it would do it, but not with the latest version.Solved41Views0likes2CommentsLoads and loads of issues syncing sparsebundles and sourcecode on Mac Sequoia
I recently re-installed my Mac and want to restore my storage from Dropbox. All goes well, except for a herd of issues when syncing sparsebundles and folders containing lots of small files, like source code. Now the Dropbox app is constantly telling me "Syncing X files" where X is never decreasing, just constantly syncing without progress. With selective sync, I narrowed down which files are causing issues, and it's definitely the .sparsebundles, Cryptomator, and general source-code folders. Did something happen to Dropbox sync? It was always bomb-proof and never had issues thanks to block-level syncing (which makes sparsebundle syncing a wonderful experience), but now I can't even get it to download important files. I use expanding sparsebundles a lot for sensitive files between work<->private Mac, and when certain applications need an "external disk" or disk image to write to, but even just git clones repositories are now causing the Dropbox app to be stuck. "Sync issues" reports nothing and that everything is great. I already raised a ticket with support but wanted to post here too, in case others are dealing with similar issues. On the latest Sequoia 15.2 and Dropbox stable v214.4.5217. (My inkling tells me this has something to do with the Finder / system integration...)22Views0likes2CommentsFiles on Dropbox online aren't syncing to my new MacBook Air.
Hi, Files from my Dropbox on the Web are not syncing to my New Mackbook Air. I believe I have gone through all of the help and done everything I think. That said, I'm wondering if my web dropbox account is linked to my new MacBook air and that maybe that's the problem. I could really use some help. Thanks!92Views0likes11CommentsMy Mac Sonoma Dropbox app is stuck syncing 24k files for hours.
Can the issue come from re-linking a previously unlinked mac device? I renamed old Dropbox folder in this mac to backup_dropbox to avoid interferences and deleted all local files but in both Macs files keep syncing for ever...36Views0likes3CommentsHow to sync my files locally on my Mac, after they've been syncing as online-only?
I have a m1 mac and longstanding free dropbox account and noticed almost all my local files were gone. It looks to me like some update to the desktop app seemingly turned on selective sync (ugh) and now all my files are online only. I'd like to set it back to local files present 'and' synched to online as it has been for many years. I found and (re)set the sync=>default sync state for new files to 'available offline' but do not see a way to tell it to catch up that setting for existing files already moved online-only. There is no 'sync back the other way FROM dropbox' option that I can tell. Again, I want local copies of everything, and online copies sync'd copies of those. I am very reluctant to try SelectiveSync unselect all -> update -> select all -> update or something like that. I also don't want to use the 'download' option to grab a second copy of many GB of data. I just want the app to resync and get local copies again like I had it from the earliest days of dropbox even existing. How do I do that without risking losing my data ? Right now I think I'm in a position where a dropbox server disk crash loses everything. That would be bad.Solved42Views0likes6Comments
