The Dropbox app on Mac OS can't sync as it's saying my hard drive is full, when it isn't
I'm currently unable to sync several video files (approx 120GB) locally due to dropbox thinking it has no space, even though I see over 800GB of available space on my drive. I'm on a teams account and have tried to show hidden files to find my dropbox cache file but haven't been able to find it to determine if that's why dropbox is confused. See attached screenshots for reference and system info. I need to sync large size files due to my work as a video editor and this is a serious impediment to my workflow at the moment so any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Dropbox folder in Mac HD taking up most of the space
I'm migrating from an iMac with Mojave to a mini with Sequoia. Time machine run well and installed everything smoothly (of course I have to update some of the apps to the new OS). It looks like Sequoia is not allowing creating folders inside Macintosh hd, so my folders's structure has to be reorganized. There's an issue limiting my flexibility in managing the situation: my dropbox folder is taking up space in Macintosh HD > Users > My Name > Dropbox Any advice? Thank you!
The extra storage space from the upgrade isn't showing on my desktop app.
So I upgraded my account from 2TB to 3TB. And in the website it shows I have 3TB, yet on the desktop app when I click on 'manage hard drive space' it shows 2TB. Any idea if / when this will update or is there something I need to do? Thanks in advance!
Dropbox online-only consuming hard drive space on Windows
I set my Dropbox and folders to online only but it is still taking up the majority of my hard drive. The files are (also?) located on my c drive: C:\Users\JaneDoe\Dropbox. If I delete a folder from the C drive it deletes it everywhere. I'm not sure how to fix this as I have never had this problem before.Dropbox uses a ton of hard drive space despite most files being online only
So, I've put ALL my files on online-only because my Mac was running out of space. In my Mac settings, Dropbox takes up 108 GB currently. Once I actually look at what folders are taking up space it's less than 2 GB (you can see in the screenshot what I mean). What is taking up all this space?

Hello: Shortly after I got a new computer, I keep getting messages that my hard drive is full. so when I check the storage it is my Dropbox folder using all the space: and when I go to the website, I have 2T space available: So, my 2 questions are: I obviously do NOT need 2T space, so can I change my subscription to give me less space? How can I remove the Dropbox folder off my hard drive and only use the website? I changed the setting to "available online only" but I do not really know exactly what that means. I did not seem to change the space - maybe I have to restart the computer? Thanks, smblock
I don't see all my files on www.dropbox.com and I'm running out of hard drive space.
I spent nearly 2 hours with customer support and they said they needed to escalate my case to someone else. The someone else sent me a link to the general Dropbox information to read through volumes of documents to figure it out myself. My hard drive is nearly full and when I go to delete files on my computer, I am being prompted to say the files will also be deleted from Dropbox. What the??? Can anyone help me? I am at wits end. Also, when I click on the shortcut on my homepage, I can see all of my files. When I go to Dropbox.com, none of them are there. I am missing something here...help!!
Need to download my documents and get Dropbox off computer as it's taking too much space
I want to remove all documents and photos off drop box and put on an external hard drive. Drop box won't let me copy over to external hard drive. I need to delete Dropbox from computer as can no longer work. Killing my storage and use of computer. Help. I need to do this fast but not lose my photos and documents. How can I ensure the photos and documents are not just links to drop box? I want to be free of drop box as wrecking my computer
