Hi! I'm having difficulty deleting a folder I own. I keep getting an error message "You don’t have permission to delete files in this folder". There are no files in the folder and I have triple checked that I am the owner of the folder. I have also unshared it with any other members.100Views0likes19CommentsI can't edit my original text in PDF files, even though I'm on the Plus plan.
I finally bit the bullet to upgrade to the Plus Plan primarily for pdf editing capability. When I tried my first pdf edit, I as so disappointed to find that this plan does not allow for editing of original text! As I read the Features web page regarding pdf editing, I saw "With Dropbox plans, you can make in-line text edits that automatically match the original document's font family, size, and styling" and thought that a paid Plus plan would do the trick. Is there any intention to enhance the Plus Plan pdf editing capabilities? Not sure if I need this plan with current limitations.24Views0likes1CommentAll folders and files completely missing from my account.
I went to login three days ago to the app on my phone and was prompted to login. I logged in and discovered that every single folder and file that I have saved in my Dropbox account was missing. My Plus plan was also reset to the Basic plan. Can anyone help me with this? I've had a Plus plan for over 3 years and so I'm baffled by this.516Views0likes11CommentsDropbox Rewind - can you only go back as far the day when you sign up for Dropbox Plus?
I want to revert to a version of a file from a couple of days ago, so i have signed up toDropbox Plus to get the Rewind feature, but I don't seem to be able to see any changes before the time I boughtDropbox Plus. Is that to be expected?349Views0likes5CommentsAfter logging into my account, my files are missing.
Hi All. I've been using dropbox on my macbook, which has beed damaged recently. After logging to my dropbox on a new device as well as on a mobile, I can see completely empty account, no files, no billing history, nothing. Would you please kindly let me know what might happen here? I'd appreciate any directions.478Views0likes8CommentsWhere are my files? Gone after an update.
OMG!!! Today dropbox asked permission to go to new format or whatever. Did that. Then to free up space on my Mac desktop, I followed instructions to selectively back up files. It said that it would delate what was not being backed up from my desktop. BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT DELETED ALL THE FILES I DIDN'T SELECT FROM THE CLOUD STORAGE AS WELL!! DID I JUST LOSE ALL THAT????? I SURE HOPE NOT. Can't find it on my backup hard drive either, but I've never tried to find anything there. Please help!!253Views0likes1CommentEdit a text (*.txt) file in Chrome browser
Hi there, I'm struggling to edit a TXT file in Chrome browser on Dropbox. I'm sure I've done it with a .docx file before. When I search for this feature, Google returns results asking for it back to 2012, but there's nothing recently, the feature requests such as this one have been closed, so I'm assuming I'm having an issue with my account. Especially since Dropbox is pushing Family plans, signature, and other feature way more complex and less universal as a simple TXT editor.I've been usinglink removed it has looked the same for years and works fine, but I find it extra weird that a giant company like Dropbox doesn't have a similar feature. How do you usually edit a TXT file in the browser? I only have a few lines to add/remove, when I'm on a machine without the Dropbox app/daemon installed, and don't want to leave any file traces on that machine. See my environment in Chrome on a Macbook air, as a Dropbox Plus paying client. On TXT files, I have an "Open in" Menu, but the arrow only opens a 2px high line. This is definitely not expected behavior, as if the submenu was empty, it should not appear with an arrow in the first place. What could I be I missing here?Solved10KViews1like22CommentsMultiple Dropbox/Documents folders on Windows 11
Windows 11 PC. 1) All my documents are in a folder named DOCUMENTS. 2) The next folder underneath the above folder is Downloads. 3) Immediately underneath the Downloads folder is a folder named DROPBOX--contains all the documents in the DOCUMENTS folder referred to in (1), above. 4) Next folders in order are: Music, Videos, Videos, Desktop, Network, Recycle Bin and ANOTHER DROPBOX folder containing all of the same documents! So, in sum, I have THREE folders named DOCUMENTS, DROPBOX & DROPBOX--all containing all my documents and I have TWO folders called VIDEOS. Please explain in plain simple language how to fix this! WTF are labels? I'll just take a guess!!243Views0likes1Comment
