Currently i use my phone for taking work-related photos as well as personal stuff, of course everything gets uploaded into the Camera Uploads folder. It would be awesome if there was an automation where it could check the EXIF data of each photo and put in a separate folder by location so all my work-related pics would be separated from everything else. Possible?27Views1like2CommentsWhere is the camera uploads setting to change .heic to .jpg on iOS?
I have been using Dropbox for a long time. It worked I never had to change anything from my initial setup. On going from Windows 10 to 11 my camera uploads changed from .jpg to .heic. Most of my use for Dropbox is uploading photos from my iPhone. I have searched through the setting menus on the Desktop App, the taskbar as Dropbox is always open and the web. I can't find the thing. Where is this camera setting?64Views0likes11CommentsPreserve file Creation Dates(and other metadata) in mobile app versions
The ability to preserve, view, sort by, etc the original Creation Dates(and other metadata) of files is missing or severely limited in the Dropbox mobile apps. People who don’t use Dropbox primarily for business purposes on a computer but, as many of us do these days, use our smartphones as our primary(or only) method of keeping track of media/documents/audio files/etc are having to deal with the frustrating situation of trying and failing to backup/reorganize/download to another mobile device/etc our files without losing this extremely important file metadata. I can’t even view ANY file information on non-photo files, and the photos are difficult to even upload with a title that reflects the actual creation date. If not uploaded at a painful 1 image at a time (and many times not even then) the file name will be changed to the upload date/time. The creation date is ALWAYS listed as the upload time or the last time that it was moved, downloaded, re-uploaded, etc. There’s no sort by CREATION date, only sort by Modification date which is just a complete denial of basic file management for those of us who manage all of our files on mobile phones and tablets. We desperately need full file information accessibility for Dropbox mobile apps… ESPECIALLY the ability to preserve and sort by the ORIGINAL file creation dates… and to not lose access to those creation dates when moved, renamed, downloaded, re-uploaded, etc, but to keep them intact despite all modifications. Creation dates and modification dates can be preserved separately without sacrificing one for the other, as long as the files’ metadata remains intact.5.9KViews20likes18CommentsI want to switch my billing from Apple to Dropbox, but I am unable to.
I'd like to switch my billing over directly to Dropbox instead of through my Apple account on my Iphone. I've spoken to their tech support and they don't have any solutions. I'd like to take advantage of a benefit I have through Adobe, but because it's connected to billing in Apple, it doesn't allow me to get the deal. It says my billing is managed externally. I let my Dropbox plan expire, as advised by Dropbox customer service, but it's been two days since it expired, and with it being my work, I'm concerned about losing my files if I don't get this fixed sooner than later. Does anyone know the steps on how to remove the "inactive" Dropbox subscription from my Apple account? Or on the Dropbox side, how to switch my billing over to Dropbox instead of externally?15Views0likes1CommentDropbox iOS problem: Unable to share more than 3 files at once.
After my Dropbox app was automatically updated recently (version 414.3), I can no longer send more than four files at once through another app. When I select four or fewer files, it works fine, but selecting more than four prevents me from tapping the send button. My friends who also use iPhones are experiencing the same issue, but Android devices don’t seem to have this problem. (I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro.) Same here. On my iphone when I select several pictures and choose save to Dropbox, it would tell me if there was a duplicate. In the last day or so, it stopped giving me that warning and instead places multiple copies of the file with a (x) suffix on the filename.29Views0likes4CommentsHow to easily create a file shortcut on Android using MS Word which works with Dropbox cloud files
Appears to work with any document that you can get to open in Android MS Word app (doc, docx, pdf, etc). I've also seen it work for at least one other program (maybe was One Drive) that had that same "back" left arrow. From my Dropbox app on my android phone, I open Word and PDF files in MS Word then use the FILE method below to create FILE (not folder) shortcuts to my Dropbox cloud files. So with one tap to the shortcut, I can quickly open the latest synced Dropbox file version. Android FILE shortcut creation: Open file in MS Word on an android phone. Tap the "Back" arrow. (The left pointing arrow in top left-hand corner of screen - NOT the "back" button in the navigation bar at the bottom ). This will take you to the "Recent" screen. Tap on the 3 vertical dots (vertical ellipsis) to the right of the file that was just opened. Select "Add to Home screen." Touch and hold the icon that is show or tap "Add" to add this shortcut to the Home screen. If no room on the home screen, it will be added to another screen. Sigh contentedly🙂 Android Dropbox FOLDER shortcut creation: Long press any empty space on the home screen. Select "Widgets." Scroll down to "Dropbox." Tap the expand down arrow Select the Dropbox icon Select "Add." Select the FOLDER that you want the shortcut to open (single files cannot be selected with this method) Select "Create Shortcut."49Views0likes1Comment"Access Blocked: Dropbox's request does not comply with Google policies" error on Android
I changed my mobile phone and after that, I see the message "Access Blocked: Dropbox's request does not comply with Google policies". I can use Dropbox with my old mobile phone with the same account but with the new phone not and see that message.30Views0likes4Comments
