I have a basic Dropbox account. I want to cancel my account. I don't understand what happens to my files when I cancel my basic dropbox account. Will my files revert to the hard drive automatically? Will I have to do something to retrieve or save my files back to my hard drive? Thank youSolved1.4KViews0likes1CommentUnauthorized charges on my bank account while on a Basic account

Hi has anyone had an issue with a large debit from Dropbox coming up on your credit card despite being on Dropbox basic which comes up as “free” and no payment history shown in account invoices. Thanks28Views0likes1CommentI was just billed 176 for Dropbox Plus, but I only have a Basic account. Can you help?
Help! I have been charged for dropbox plus, I was not warned in advance. But on top of that, they say I still have just basic. I tried using the chat to investigate the charge. The charge shows up when we look it up in the system, and on my credit card, but the chat system is not devised to help fix the problem. I need to talk to a real person, but they do not allow it for Basic. But now I have Plus and I still cannot talk to anyone! Please help, I need to fix this issue.Solved101Views0likes4CommentsI can't upgrade to the Dropbox Basic Extra Plan
I was on a Basic Extra plan for the past 18 months: 50GB of storage, no frills and only ~£18 all-in which was perfect for my needs. Since this expired I've gone to reactivate and there's no longer a plan for me, even the cheapest is far too expensive and has too much storage/features I don't need. Is there a way I can get in touch with a human from support to help me? The chat bot doesn't understand what I'm on about. Many thanks, Joe49Views0likes5CommentsI want to redeem the Dropbox Basic Extra plan.
I got a notification popup that offered me Dropbox basic-extra. It was around 500GB for around $6 a month. I was excited to take the offer but was busy with other people and the timing was not right so I thought I would sign up later when I got home. But the offer was gone. On a Live Chat a customer service person gave me a URL link to redeem it but it just gave an error that said it is not available. How can I get the basic-extra plan? It is just personal use and I just cannot justify 2TB or more money. Kindly let me know how I can upgrade to the basic-extra plan. Thank, Gary114Views0likes5CommentsI subscribed for Plus but my account is still registering as Basic.
Subscribed for Plus an hour ago to access another folder that has 700+ GB of data. Transaction went through and the account should now be Plus, but it's not. I tried to copy the folder to my account but that didn't go through no matter how many attempts, so I just joined the folder, it loaded for a bit the hit me with a "You're out of storage!" message. No, I am not out of storage, I literally just upgraded for 2 TB worth of it. I did it over and over but nothing changed. Logged out of my account then back in again, still the same. Closed my browser and quit the app, still the same. When I click on my profile icon it says my account only has 2GB of storage. I went over everything on my account and found some dumb errors. First thing I did was click on "Upgrade" and it says my current plan is Plus, then why isn't it acting like it? When opening the settings it opened to personal account and I found that my current plan is basic? I clicked on "Upgrade to Plus", then it sends a message that I already am in Plus, and it says that I already use Plus. I went back to the setting but it's back to just being basic again. I also did this process a few times, still the same. Image below is after I clicked "Upgrade to Plus". Then lastly I opened "Manage Account" and found this. Please fix this issue with my account as soon as possible, files inside are needed within a few days and it might also take a few days to download everything to my local storage.49Views0likes2CommentsLost my earned free storage
Hello everyone, I’ve been a Dropbox user for what feels like forever—almost as long as Dropbox itself has been around. At that time, on the early years, I’ve enthusiastically shared Dropbox with my colleagues and friends, inviting them to join the platform. Many of them became users, and through this referral program, I was awarded free storage space, accumulating over 17 GB of space as a reward for my efforts. However, at some point, my account’s storage was reduced to the standard 2 GB of storage space. This was unexpected and honestly disheartening because that extra storage wasn’t just a freebie—it was something I earned by actively contributing to the growth of the Dropbox community in their early days when most companies need the most. It feels unfair that the space I accumulated through this referral program has been simply and suddenly stripped away. I trusted that the rewards I earned in good faith under Dropbox’s referral program would be permanent, as the company has profited (if not still) from it. Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, did you manage to resolve it? I’m hoping Dropbox will acknowledge the contributions of its long-term users and reinstate the storage that many of us earned. Let’s see if we can get Dropbox to address this issue. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! Thank you for reading48Views0likes4Comments
