Cannot directly open file from DB Dash
I was excited to use DB Dash, and like the fast and thorough search capability BUT the fact that you cannot actually open a file from the Dash window renders this feature unhelpful. When clicking on a file in the Dash results it opens up a browser page with the same list and only there can you actually access the searched for file. This adds an unnecessary step that has caused me to pretty much cease use of Dash. Sigh!
Dropbox Dash extension & desktop apps have same name & m concern about how they are supposed to work
Hello Dropbox team. Today I installed dropbox Dash extension from the MAS. I then discovered that there was a desktop client and proceeded to download it. Upon trying to install the desktop app, I was told that, the extension and desktop app have the same name so I deleted the extension and installed the desktop app. I added bookmarks to the web app to be pulled up in the Mac app and when I typed a search and hit enter, it open a browser tab in the dropbox web app. The Dropbox web app rendered the link with the option to now open the webpage on a new tab that I had requested. What can be done to resolve this and why are the extension and Mac app have the same name. Michael
Dropbox Dash indexing/preparation and configuration
I'm experimenting with the Dropbox Dash beta. Its uncomfortably "blackbox" to me. What I'd like to be able to do is see what data sources and folders its currently indexing or preparing with embeddings etc.. I'd also like to be able to be more fine grained in defining what data sources provide input data for Dash. Its too coarse grained to provide a go ahead for an entire Dropbox account. I'd like to be able to say "just these folders". Is the Dropbox Dash team intending to provide these types of "visibility and control" features?
