Hi! I recently switched to iPhone and was unable to transfer photos from my Android to my new phone, hence why I’m here. I need a good place to store all my photos so that they are easily accessible on all devices. I have my photos VERY organized on my Android and was wondering if I could transfer them to Dropbox and KEEP THEM IN THE ALBUMS they are currently in… It seems they are simply coming over one by one out of the albums. This is extremely frustrating. Especially because I’m dealing with iPhones idiotic idea of phone storage (you move a photo to an album and it STAYS in the camera roll!! It just becomes a copy-I don’t want it in 2 places. I need it organized and in ONE. Anyway…) Any way to do this?431Views0likes2CommentsI'm having issues renaming scanned files in the iOS Dropbox app
I use Dropbox App on my iPhone a lot for scanning. I scan the file, then select Rename and change to what I want the name to be. Today I scanned a document and clicked on Rename. I had the name in the edit box and several suggestions below that I could select, but there was no keyboard for backspace where I could put in the name I wanted. This just started today. After I scanned the document. I opened DropBox on my Mac and easily changed the file name. Needless to say this is a hassle using two devices to scan then change the name! Any help would be appreciated.262Views0likes3CommentsQuestions about using Dropbox on an iPhone as a new iOS user
Just bought an iPhone after years with Android Phones, rather confused with the way Dropbox works with an iPhone. Appreciate some help and advise. A) On an Android, copying a folder from Dropbox to the Phone is a simple select and copy. Found out that for an iPhone, I must first download all the files in the Dropbox folder. Then only can I copy the folder into the iPhone. 1. Is my understanding correct or have I done/experienced something wrong here? B) When on holiday, I used the phone as a camera for photo taking. On an Android, after a day of photo taking, I will moved all the photos from the folder DCIM (this folder saves all of the photos that is capture using the phone’s camera) into a newly created folder named yyyymmdd in Dropbox. The original photos will then be deleted. 2. How can I do something similar on an iPhone? C. This may not be a Dropbox related question, but in case any iPhone experts come across this post :D I have copied an existing folder from Dropbox to my iPhone (Foler name : Fav_Photos). I will also be adding photos and videos into this folder progressively as times goes by. - On an Android, the gallery app (app name: Aves Gallery) will immediately notice any new images and populate the gallery. - Understand that Photos is the official photos app but none of the images and videos is detected/shown in the Photos app. 3. How should I proceed to enable the Photos app to auto populate with photos and videos from folder Fav_Photos? 4. Should I be using a separate gallery app? Which app? Thanks in advance for any help and advice.43Views0likes3CommentsForce iOS Dropbox app to upload camera pictures in the background
You should find a way to force the iOS Dropbox app to upload camera pictures in the background regardless of whether or not the app is actually active. As it stands now, this function is hardly of any use whatsoever because in order for it to work, not only does the app have to be running (like in the background), but it also must be active! If I ever have to access the app, it’s generally only for less than a minute. But if I have photos on the phone that haven’t been uploaded to Dropbox, I have to sit there and wait with the app active until they all upload. If I further in the middle of the upload and switch to another app as the active one, then the remaining photos just won’t upload.41Views0likes2CommentsSome of my photos upload as DNG or PNG and not as JPG files - how can I avoid this?

Dropbox was taking up 90GB on my iPhone, so I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. That cleared the problem. But now it’s taking days to upload videos, where previously they were fast uploads. Internet speed is fast at home. Suggestions?20Views0likes1CommentDoes automatic photo upload in iOS work if I kill the app in the background?
Trying to get reliable information and not able to get anywhere because I have a habit of killing akk apps from background. I have installed the app and took a couple of photos to check whether this works. Given how iOS behaves, not sure whether this would work or not. Are we expected to keep the app running in background for this feature to work as expected?Solved42Views0likes4CommentsIs it possible to access tags from my iPhone?
I have tags on various files created on my MacBook and need to see these tags when accessing the files on my iPhone. I need these tags for quick reference to see what invoices are still outstanding when visiting clients. However when I view the files on both the iOS Dropbox app and the Files app on my iPhone the tags aren't visible. Is there a setting or view option to make the tags visible on my iPhone, on either the iOS Dropbox app directly or the Files app? I can't seem to find it anywhere?23Views0likes1Comment“Couldn’t save content. Check your internet connection and refresh the page." on iOS mobile app
Running iOS 17.3, just updated. When I try to share content to Dropbox, I get an error message: “Couldn’t save content. Check your internet connection and refresh the page. There’s not internet connection issue; I’m connected. This is Dropbox-specific. If I use share to Save to Dropbox, that works fine; no error. This also seems unique to the latest iOS update, as I didn’t encounter it before that. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Dropbox, and simply re-starting. Neither helps.Solved14KViews3likes119Comments
