Recently my PC crashed so while in the shop I set up my old laptop and put some Dropbox files in using selective sync (due to limited space)... Now I have my PC back and an important folder has a sync conflict with nothing in it... There is no duplicate folder and it only shows up on Mobile (which is the web) and on computer web access (with selective sync conflict) ... I do not know where the files are... Not in the trash on Dropbox and not in my recycle bin on PC... Please, someone help me find my missing files... (PS: They are images of the Book of Isaiah Scrolls that I created... ) I thought they would always be safe in Dropbox...23Views0likes0CommentsAround 500 images created via Arduino IDE were randomly deleted via my mobile app.
So I am trying to understand what has happened, and how to avoid it again (i'm assuming it is something I have done) I'm coding micro controllers for a project of mine (arduino IDE) and have about 100 versions of said program saved in my dropbox. Everytime I create a new version it creates a new directory with about 20 files for the program. All this programing is done on a PC. My phone is also connected to dropbox but only back's up images taken on my phone to dropbox. My issue is that a week ago my phone deleted 5 jpg files repeatedly from each of these 100+ program file directories. All 500ish images ( basicly 5 images representing battery charging indicator repeated in 100 seperate diectories) were deleted in about 2 minutes, so it's not something that could have been done manually in that time. My question is what happened and how do I make sure it doesnt happen again36Views0likes5CommentsCan deleted photos be retrieved from Deleted Files?
3 days ago I deleted some individual in-named, un-filed single iPhone uploaded pictures. A few minutes ago I tried retrieving some from the deleted files section and after adjusting the filters, nothing came up. (1)Is there a grace period for retrieving? (2)Are deleted files the only items retrievable and not individual un-filed pictures? I’m a bit confused as to (3)what the difference between files and phone uploads and camera uploads are other than the obvious, deleting un-filed un-named singles individually to files having a name, files holding multiple pictures and ability to delete a whole file with pics all at once. (5)But with it being called “ Deleted Files”, are they all considered the same when deleting and retrieving them? It seems that Dropbox puts all my uploaded unfiled and un-named singles under camera uploads or phone uploads, (6)which I suppose, they could be considered pre-named Dropbox files (7)Not sure if I can delete pictures as a whole from these (files?) (8)because when opened, the two prenamed dropbox file formats look different than that of a file I named. (9)Dropbox’s Camera uploads and Phone uploads (files?) would make more sense to me if i uploaded photos with a secondary device like a Nikon camera or…..a Cannon. But all my Dropbox photo uploads are sourced from my iPhone camera. So that too is a bit confusing because I don’t choose where my singles go. They just go. Sometimes they go to both prenamed Dropbox (files?) I’ve had Dropbox for 10 years. (10)Looking for answers.33Views0likes4CommentsCan I retain the original name of the file if it's uploaded through Camera Uploads?
I noticed that the file name for camera uploads will be automatically changed. Original file name: 20240330-164639 When uploaded to dropbox: 2024-03-30 16.46.39. Is there anyway to retain the original naming?158Views0likes3CommentsAdd Updating to the Android Dropbox app
I have a file that is listed as modified 2 weeks ago, but I modified it on a Windows computer and the update was listed there as completed. But on the Android device, it is listed as modified 2 weeks ago. I pulled down from the top of the Dropbox page and got a refresh spinner, but the file is still listed as modified 2 weeks ago. Developers, please do the right thing and give us an Update button or the equivalent functionality for Android. Once I successfully upload my photos to Dropbox from my Camera Roll on my iPhone and iPad, can I delete those photos - or some of them - from my devices (to free-up space) and if I do, what happens to them? Thanks!Solved264Views0likes4CommentsAfter signing a PDF on mobile, the file is locked in Adobe Acrobat on my desktop
Hello together, I have a problem since a few days: When I sign a PDF in my Dropbox on my IPhone I can't edit the signature later in my Acrobat Adobe on my desktop. It has a little lock icon now and I can't move it. Normal textboxes can be moved in the "Edit mode" of Adobe Acrobat, but not the signature. I am really desperate. Thank you very much for your help, guys!52Views0likes3CommentsCan't edit Microsoft files on iPhone (iOS 18)
I can no longer (just since a few days) edit any files from Microsoft (.xlsx, .docx or .pptx) on my iPhone (14 with iOS18). I can only read them. I do subscribe on Microsoft 365 and I have always been able to open and edit Microsoft files from my phone. It works fine on PC. Also If I copy the file from Dropbox to OneDrive (on the PC), everything works fine even from the phone when opened from OneDrive. When clicking on the file in Dropbox asking for example to open in Excel, I get the answer that the file is stored on a Server which is not supported Please HelpSolved311Views1like17CommentsHow to Safely Manage Photos Between Dropbox and iPhone?
Hi everyone, I use Dropbox to back up and organize my photos, but I’m having some trouble managing them with my iPhone Photos app. I recently noticed that when I delete a photo from Dropbox, it also gets deleted from my iPhone Photos app, which I didn’t expect. Here are my questions: How can I delete photos from Dropbox without affecting the photos saved on my iPhone? Is there a way to stop Dropbox from syncing deletions with my iPhone? Can I keep using Dropbox as a backup while ensuring my iPhone photos remain safe and unaffected? I’m a professional photographer specializing in headshots Cary, and branding, so keeping my photos secure and well-organized is really important for my work. If anyone has experienced this issue or knows how to fix it, I’d appreciate your advice! Thank you in advance for your help!67Views0likes2CommentsI lost my pictures and videos when reinstalling the Dropbox mobile app
