Trust us when we say there are some seriously useful updates here, whether itâs to do with day-to-day file management, security or an online shopfront - exciting times! Secure your digital life with Dropbox Backupâhereâs whatâs new: Backing up your files, as you know, is super important and if you need a simple and secure backup solution to protect the most important parts of your digital life - Dropbox Backup is for you. Whether you have family photos, graduation videos, or tax forms on your computerâyou can keep it all safe and quickly recover with Dropbox Backup. If youâre a member of the Dropbox Community, chances are youâve heard of Computer Backup before, so whatâs the new news? Based on feedback from customers and our Community members, the team have made improvements to Computer Backup - building on our popular backup functionality, weâre now introducing Dropbox Backup. Backup has been upgraded with new features our users have been asking for, including a new restoration flow, settings to manage your backups on your computer, and more. Simplify your backup experience- Manage everything from your desktopâone place to check progress, view history, and prioritize specific files. Be prepared with an automated safety net- Keep backed up files separate from your shared files, so you wonât have to worry about overwriting your emergency backups. Dropbox Shop is a new platform that allows creators (like you, maybe) to easily sell contentâfrom e-books and recipes to prints and workout videosâdirectly to customers, so you can spend more doing what you love: creating. With Dropbox Shop you can: Easily create product listings in three clicks: Add content directly from Dropbox or your computer, set a custom image, audio, or video preview, and determine your price, and now, tipping is also enabled. Customize your storefront: Set your seller profile up with a name, picture, and description that lets customers know exactly who you are and what youâre doing! Within Dropbox you can: Rearrange PDF pages Insert, rotate, and delete PDF pages Fill interactive forms Manage multiple versions: save PDFs as a copy or replace original These features are available to a select few in Beta now, and will roll out to more people in coming weeks. I donât know about you, but Iâm absolutely delighted to finally see spring taking itâs hold. If youâre anything like us Irish, this time of year marks a turning point, as the dark winter months are replaced by longer, brighter and warmer days. Flowers start to blossom, bees are buzzing, the birds are singing, and it nearly seems like the whole countryâs mood lifts. Itâs just a blooming great time of year! Weâve also got a lot to be happy about with Dropbox, too. So, hereâs whatâs new this spring. Publishing content to social media Weâre currently in the process of rolling out a feature that will allow you to publish content straight to social media from your Dropbox account. If youâve been using Dropbox for your social media content, youâll know that downloading - and re-uploading - videos and images can take up quite a bit of time so youâll be delighted to hear that you will no longer need to do this as you can now publish posts on Facebook and Instagram directly from your Dropbox account. Weâre also currently working on a function that will allow you to schedule posts directly from your Dropbox account and the ability to publish content to YouTube. Youâll need an Instagram for Business account and a linked Facebook account to be able to use these features. As this is currently being rolled out, this feature is not yet available to everyone. Youâll know if you can do it if you can see the âPublishâ button. If you canât see it, have a look at this thread to find out how to opt-in. Unlimited passwords Having somewhere to track and manage passwords these days is an integral part of life, otherwise youâre left trying to remember an ever growing and ever changing list of random words, not to mention the really hard bit of trying to remember which random word fits for which random account. With Dropbox Passwords, you donât need to worry about any of that, it will keep all your passwords, logins and card details up to date and fully synced across three devices. It will even autofill your passwords so they are as safe and securer as possible, but thatâs not even the best thing about Dropbox Passwords. So, what is the best thing about Dropbox Passwords? Well, that would be the fact that it is completely free and available to all Dropbox Basic account holders. So to boost your password security game and put your mind at ease, get started with Passwords now! Mobile search improvements If youâve been using the Dropbox mobile app, youâve probably noticed some improvements to our search functionality recently. If you havenât, and youâre interested in learning more, hereâs a very quick run down of whatâs new. To start with, weâve made the thumbnails that appear in your search results bigger, which makes it easier to identify the things that youâre looking for and means you donât need to strain your eyes looking at those tiny tiles anymore. Weâve also added a number of new parameters and filters to help you find what youâre looking for quicker. Your search results will now include âModified Datesâ and âFile Sizesâ. Weâve introduced âSnippetsâ for keyword matches within files and thereâs also the ability to filter your search based on âFile Typeâ or âModified Dateâ and you can now view search results in order of newest to oldest. And finally Weâd also like to give an honorary mention to one other thing that isnât really Dropbox related but will have a huge impact on our lives over the coming weeks and months. That is, the sun. For those of you who donât know it, itâs the huge golden ball burning in the sky.
