I don’t have permission to restrict access to one of my folders, even though I'm the admin.
I tried to search for an answer to this but came up empty. First, let me say that I am the Admin of the account. I only have one Dropbox account, and I've tried to restrict access to a folder from both a computer and from the web interface. I have a folder in a subfolder (that is shared with others in our company), and I cannot restrict access to the subfolder. Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot figure out what. On a computer, I created the folder inside the parent shared folder (shared with all team members), but I want the subfolder to only be available to me. On a computer, it shows the "find admin" link, and when I click it, it brings me to the team page on Dropbox.com and shows that I am the one and only admin.
Password protect within account on the Essentials plan
I have my account open on my chrome profile and it’s possible for people to get into my dropbox account from the several shared computers it’s connected to. So I was wondering if it’s possible to password protect folders while in my own Dropbox account. my plan is Essentials.
Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder...
Mid-December, my Mac updated to the latest OS. macOS Sequoia 15.2 (24C101). Since then, Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/ ############/.dropbox every time I restart my Mac and a few times throughout the day. I have tried to check every permission possible to no avail. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox with admin privileges. Any ideas to resolve this small annoyance? Cheers

Hi there, I'm a big fan of Dropbox Paper and been using it for a long while. 2 questions: Is this product still being developed, or will it be sunset at some point? On my Dropbox paper document, I see several badges of many guest users viewed it at the top right corner, although the document is totally private and not shared with anyone. Should I be worried? I access the Dropbox Paper documents mainly through my laptop and sometimes from my iPhone; both are logged into my Dropbox account.
Files in shared links show my exact location, why?
I use drop box for a number of things. I just had someone who has been with me for a while with my drop box tell me he got an exact location from my drop box. he sent me a picture of my exact location on that file. This is a huge safety issue. I have an iPhone 16pro Dropbox version : 402.2.2
Dropbox account seems to have been hacked, how can I proceed?
An unauthorized person hijacked our basic Dropbox account and sent an email invite to an undisclosed number of recipients. The content of the email invite may have malicious content/link to a .pdf file. We noticed the unusual behavior as the owner of the Dropbox account was overseas (unaware) and the recipients tried to contact the Dropbox owner to see if it was legit or not. We reset the password and set the 2-factor authentication. However, today a ‘Reminder’ email notification was sent out by the same account to an unknown number of recipients. Questions: How do you determine (who) the email addresses the initial invitation email was sent to and the number of recipients? We want to send an email blast to warn them not to click on the link in the invite. How do you disable the reminder email notification of the original invitation? Any other advice? Hi all - I have a shared folder. If I have it set so that "Only people invited can access", how would that change for a collaborator? I see the note "This setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate" and just want to ensure that only people added can view/edit the folder and the link can't be shared with others.Prevent the Dropbox settings from being changed (OSX)
Is there a way to prevent the Dropbox settings from being changed via the icon in the taskbar? I would like a co-user of my OSX laptop to only have access to certain folders in my Dropbox. I have hidden all other folders in Dropbox in his user setup, but the settings can still be changed at any time via the taskbar icon. Can this be set via the user permissions in OSX?
