When clicking e.g. "Open with Microsoft Online Excel" on a file from the Dropbox website, a loading page shows and then it just ends up becoming a blank page. It used to work, but it seems there's a security policy in the headers on the page preventing communication with Microsoft login services, as the JavaScript console shows the following error: Refused to send form data to 'https://login.live.com/' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "form-action 'self' https://docs.google.com/document/fsip/ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/fsip/ https://docs.google.com/presentation/fsip/ https://docs.sandbox.google.com/document/fsip/ https://docs.sandbox.google.com/spreadsheets/fsip/ https://docs.sandbox.google.com/presentation/fsip/ https://excel.purple.officeapps.live-int.com https://onenote.purple.officeapps.live-int.com https://powerpoint.purple.officeapps.live-int.com https://visio.purple.officeapps.live-int.com https://word-view.purple.officeapps.live-int.com https://word-edit.purple.officeapps.live-int.com https://officeapps-df.live.com https://excel.officeapps-df.live.com https://onenote.officeapps-df.live.com https://powerpoint.officeapps-df.live.com https://word-view.officeapps-df.live.com https://word-edit.officeapps-df.live.com https://officeapps.live.com https://excel.officeapps.live.com https://onenote.officeapps.live.com https://powerpoint.officeapps.live.com https://word-view.officeapps.live.com https://word-edit.officeapps.live.com https://paper.dropbox.com/cloud-docs/edit https://www.dropbox.com/ https://dl-web.dropbox.com/ https://photos.dropbox.com/ https://paper.dropbox.com/ https://showcase.dropbox.com/ https://www.hellofax.com/ https://app.hellofax.com/ https://www.hellosign.com/ https://app.hellosign.com/ https://help.dropbox.com/ https://navi.dropbox.jp/ https://selfguidedlearning.dropboxbusiness.com/ https://instructorledlearning.dropboxbusiness.com/ https://sales.dropboxbusiness.com/ https://accounts.google.com/ https://api.login.yahoo.com/ https://login.yahoo.com/ https://pal-test.adyen.com https://2e83413d8036243b-Dropbox-pal-live.adyenpayments.com/". "Protect sheets and ranges" options are missing from .gsheet created within Dropbox
My team uses a shared Dropbox, and we'd like to be able to collaborate on a google sheet in real-time. I made a google sheet following the instructions here:https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/third-party/create-google-docs And it works, mostly - except, a few features are missing that are very important, particularly, the ability to protect/lock previous entries. This is essential to ensure we keep accurate records that are not mistakenly over-written over time. Anyone else have a similar issue or know of a solution?2.9KViews0likes3CommentsCan't edit then and SAVE (not save as!) Office documents on Android. Please help.
I'm not a tech guru, but not a complete newbie either. I have the standard free Dropbox (140.4.1951) on my Windows 10 laptop (all automatic updates). Dropbox app on my Samsung S10e (running the latest version 12). Office app (all in one) on my Samsung. I also have (as a test just now), the Word standalone app. TEST 1 I opened the Dropbox app on my phone. I could see all my files. I opened a Word doc using the Office All-In-One app. I made a simple edit. I could not save the edit unless I chose 'Save as'. I didn't want to Save As. I wanted to edit my Word document, save the changes and then open the file on my laptop. TEST 2 I opened the same Word doc using the standalone Word app. I was asked to login to Dropbox to complete the pairing with Word. To my surprise, the edit option was greyed out. TEST 3 I opened the same Word doc using the Office All-In-One app. For some reason the edit option which appeared before is now greyed out. What am I missing? I've searched forums, checked settings, all to no avail. Please help.6.3KViews2likes6CommentsIn a "mdworker quit unexpectedly" loop after turning on Smart Sync
Ever since turning on Dropbox Smart Sync, Spotlight has been going nuts and using tons of CPU. The helper app "mdworker" is constantly crashing. Will report back after Dropbox finishes indexing all the Smart Sync files. PS. Funny you can't link Dropbox photos to the image uploader in this forum.Solved22KViews0likes102CommentsNAS
Hi, I want to set up a home NAS device which syncs with my Dropbox cloud account. I have the option of buying a new NAS with Dropbox installed on it, or somehow reusing my old NAS boxes which can't install Dropbox, by e.g. installing Dropbox on a router (or other network hardware), which then acts as the go-between. I can't leave a PC server running 24-7 and I don't really want to spend all that money on a new NAS. I would prefer to buy a second-hand router for example if that would do the job. I have heard a Pi might work but would overheat? What options do I have?Solved5.4KViews0likes5CommentsDropbox login problem on PocketBook

Hi all I just want to add my experience on this subject and some tips and issues. I worked on a project using Solidworks, with 3-4 other engineers from 3 different companies. The CAD folder was shared between us via Dropbox. One think to keep in mind really important: Solidworks makes hiden temporary files of the opened documents. A second Solidworks session will recognice those and ether prevent a second user from working on those files or warn and create coppies. Dropbox does not sync temporary files, so Solidworks will not know if someone else has the files open. As a result it is easy to overwrite each others work. One way around that is to load Solidworks assemblies in lightweight mode and each engineer to work on a seperate sub-assembly. Avoid making links/reference geometry of other subassemblies. Since most of us were freelancers i found it easy to modify the top level of the assembly on non-working hours when i knew people were not accesing it. Performance was somethimes a bit on the slow side but Solidworks can be slow even when loading files from a local server. Also while Solidworks was open sometime files whould not sync. So occasionaly i would have to close it to allow Dropbox to upload changes. Finally at the end of the day i had to leave my PC open for a few minutes for Dropbox to sync. The prospect of overwriting files is really scary and i don't think this solution can work in large teams. But for a small team on a tight budget it can definetly work, you just have to communicate who is saving what.6.7KViews0likes1Comment
