The option for Clients to "star" or "favorite" Images in a shared folder would be insanely useful. It's surprising this still hasn't been added yet as a feature. Especially given the introduction of Replay for video feedback, and the fact that commenting already exists for photos and stars exist for internal favorites—all we need is the option for external clients to also "star" photos the way they can comment on photos. Currently, we have to use third-party programs to share photo proofs with clients just so they can select the images they want to purchase. Comments alone are too cumbersome when there's hundreds of images to go through. One tiny addition of a star would make Dropbox for photos unbeatable!395Views5likes2CommentsGive us the option to export/download comments
It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to download a PDF (or image, or other file types) with comments included. Alternatively, could there be a way save out just the comments as it's own downloadable format? If a file is changed, the comments disappear into the ether. This would help streamline our workflow and help keep track of changes/comments/conversations. Currently we screenshot every page with comments to keep track of edits. Hello, Many users, including myself, would like to see a way to save a thumbnail of our choosing when we send a video link to a client, and without needing to purchase or rent any up-sell software. If it can be done with Vimeo, Youtube, and Frame IO, it can be done here on Dropbox too. All too often I will share a link with a professional client for a video I've created, and the thumbnail image that opens up for the client is of the on-camera talent caught in an embarrassing pose with their mouth open and their eyes half closed. Hello Dropbox, can this idea be turned into a reality? You need to help us users look more professional in the eyes of our clients. This is why we pay for the Dropbox service. To my fellow Dropbox users... if you agree with this please "like" it, or add to the thread.22KViews39likes18CommentsAllow us to select the folders whose photos we'd like to view under the Photos tab.
------------------------ It would be very helpful to have the option to select which directories to include or exclude in the "Photos" section. We often store images or screenshots in specific folders, and these end up mixed in with our main photos, creating visual clutter. Being able to limit the display to only the directories that actually contain photos would help maintain a more organized and focused experience. Add logic to automations via file tags "if file tagged X, rename file with Y". "if file tagged X, convert the file to a different format". "if file tagged X, resize the current image file". "if file tagged X, perform any other automation actions". "if file tagged X (on upload) put a copy of it in folders Y, W and Z" Every file should have a tag associated with it by default when its uploaded via mobile or desktop. We could then build all of our automations based off file tags, regardless of what folder a file is in. Right now its the other way around, automations are built on folders, not the files themselves.27Views2likes3CommentsMaster List of Tags with the ability to mass edit them
Hi! I decided to use Dropbox over its competitors because of their image tagging system which is very useful for my job. However I realized that there is not a master list of all the tags I have created over the last several months of using Dropbox and I have forgotten some of the tags that I created at the start of my project. I would like Dropbox to create a master list for all the tags that I have created, and it would be incredibly useful if there was a way to mass-edit a tag as well. As of now, you have to go into each image individually to delete or update a tag and it would be more helpful if there was an easier/less time consuming way to sort and organize. Thanks!10Views0likes1CommentOn iPad, adjust column widths, or allow line wrap, to show full filenames
Is it possible to prevent long filenames being shortened from the end? My filenames need to have the whole name displayed, rather than having the end characters chopped off. These "end" characters identify the various versions of the same file. Many thanks, JohnF3.1KViews27likes12Comments
