I was the admin of my Dropbox Team when my account was mistakenly added to a new team. I have since removed myself from the new team, but in the process my account was deleted. I had to wait 7 days to re-register with the same email address. Now I cannot join my old team because there is no admin on that team to have me join the old team. Please advise!Solved2.4KViews0likes7CommentsCan't access main Admin account for Dropbox as email no longer exists
Hi -Our main admin left the company. We had access to her dropbox but the freelance IT guy came in, changed our emails from Fasthosts to another provider and cancelled the Fasthost plans, so that email no longer exists and cant be reinstalled. We now have no access to the admin of this Dropbox account and the IT guy has full access as it looks like he's stored the passwords for when he was accessing stuff through Teamviewer - but we need that to stop immediately as other things have gone on We can access the other account linked but they don't have admin permissions, and so our IT guy has full control of this account and not us?! What can we do?? Thanks2KViews0likes15CommentsMy Dropbox account has been suspended and my team cannot access my shared folder
Dear Dropbox Community, I am writing to seek assistance regarding the suspension of my Dropbox account. Recently, my Dropbox administrator suspended my account, resulting in all the files that I have created becoming unavailable on any computer. Moreover, many of these files are shared folders that are inaccessible to my team members due to my suspension. Unfortunately, my Dropbox administrator has poor expertise in managing Dropbox, and I am unable to make her understand the situation, and she said that I deleted all the shared folder. Hence, I am hoping to access any documentation or support that could assist me in demonstrating to my superiors what actually happened. Could you please advise me on how to proceed? I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you for your time and consideration. I have always used a personal DropBox account. I joined a team account and synced my accounts. When they deleted my team account, I can no longer access my personal files (neither email address is recognized). How do I regain access to those files? I cannot find any phone number or ability to contact DropBox to get help. Any help please or a number to call?1KViews0likes4CommentsLeave team folder and migrate personal files back to Dropbox Pro
I had a personal Pro account and was invited by an organization to join their Teams folder. I then selected to merge accounts and received a refund for the remainder of the year. i would like to split the accounts again and switch to my personal Pro again without losing my personal files. How can I do this?1.3KViews0likes6CommentsJoining Dropbox for teams account added all my files to my client's account
Hi! My client tried to share a folder with me and accidentally sent me an invite to their team. I accepted the invite thinking I would get a shared file inside my personal business account. INSTEAD, all of my personal and business files have been merged with their team's documents. I am very angry and upset this is so easily done and that Dropbox doesn't give you any recourse other than to contact the admin of the team. This seems like a really easy way for someone to hijack an account. I have sensitive documents and files in my account that have now been shared with my client, putting me at risk for legal implications. Please fix this poor communication and porting Dropbox. It's obviously already a problem for several people here. On a personal note: WHAT THE EFF!!!!! I am ANGRY and EMBARRASSED and incredibly stressed out. I'm going to be looking for a new file management system because this is terrifying, I cried today because of this, you've embarrassed me in front of my client. I will be having nightmares about this for a long time.461Views0likes4CommentsBusiness and personal account - cannot unlink personal and link to new personal
I currently have two accounts, business and personal. My husband has his own account. With the upgrade to 2TB, we no longer need to have 2 accounts. I unlinked my personal account on my work laptop. It still has my business account. I cannot figure out how to link to my husband's account (our new shared account). Dropbox defaults to my old personal account login and will not let me edit it. If I try to use the "Google" signin, it chastizes me that I need to use my old personal login. I have gone to the Dropbox website and unlinked the devices (my work laptop) as well. Doesn't matter. Do I need to unlink my business account as well to give me a chance to link to my husband's personal account (aka, our new shared account)? Thanks for any guidance on this.Solved8.3KViews1like8CommentsAccidental folder move prevention on Dropbox Business team
Our company uses Dropbox for Business. Currently our folder structure is Lawyers and then under that we have Amy, Brian, Chris, etc (the names of the lawyers). The under each lawyer we have dozens of different subfolders for the different cases. The other day an employee accidentally dragged Chris into Brian and it caused us to be down as thousands of files were moved and then we had to move them back and wait for everything to sync to everyone's computers. I'm wondering if we can limit this kind of damage by moving Amy, Brian, Chris, etc to the top level and then changing the setting Admin console, Settings, Content, Top-level content management from Everyone to Only Admins. Then they wouldn't be able to move Chris to Brian if they're not an admin. They would still be able to work as they are now and edit the subfolders and files, correct?1.3KViews0likes8CommentsCannot join a team
Hi all, I've started a new job, where they use Dropbox to store all the company's files and folders. I was instructed to create a new Dropbox using my new work email address, which I did, and told I would be invited to the team account. My manager has sent three invites for me to join the team, none of which have come through to my email (not even in junk). My colleague then sent me an invite to access the team folders, which I accepted and I can see that the folders are there, shared with me BUT there is an error message saying I do not have enough storage space on my current plan to access any of the folders, which I desperately need to do in order to do my new job properly! I have had a personal Dropbox for years which I use to do all my work, store photos, share files with clients and colleagues etc... I had a new client wanting to share files via Dropbox and without paying much attention I clicked on the email invitation thinking it was to a shared folder like I have done many times previously, but actually looks like it was an invite to join their team... So now it appears that my personal Dropbox has been completely taken over and I am now a part of their team! While I can see that it says on my Personal files that I am the only member, assuming the client can't see the files, it really isn't ideal and would like to reclaim my own Dropbox for myself. Is there a way for me to remove myself from the Team? And if so will that simply go back to my normal plan? Any help on this much appreciated as don't want to risk loosing access to my own files and account...Solved11KViews1like28Comments
