I'm surprised there's not more recent talk of this ... have I missed it? First, I don't appear to have access to Dropbox Third-Party AI. Is there a way I can get this? Second, what is happening with Dropbox's ability to pair up with a LLM to get the ability to chat deeply with a catalog of files?33Views0likes5CommentsI'm getting conflicted copies when using Pages on my iPad with Dropbox files.
Hi there. Whenever I use Pages on my iPad for word processing and the file it’s using is sourced from Dropbox I’m getting multiple conflicted copies generated. It feels like 1 every 5 minutes or whenever the program auto-saves so 30 minutes of writing will generate multiple conflicted copies in my Dropbox folder. Anyone have any solutions or workarounds to this? Thanks401Views1like4CommentsI keep seeing conflicted copies for my audio files, after using a third-party software.
Hi! Recently I've been getting problems with duplicate files when I export audio files from my software directly into a Dropbox folder . One of them is labled "conflicted copy", (I think that's the english term, I've got dropbox in swedish where it says "konfliktkopia"). The one that has the original file name only is always incomplete, the end of the audio file is cut. I've read that "conflicted copy" is something that happens when multiple users are editing the same file. However, I'm the single user on the account and I'm pretty sure I haven't been hacked by someone who consistently exports my audio files the same minute I am. Something seems to happen when I export the files (and thus add them to Dropbox). Like Dropbox thinks it's a new file, while it's still being rendered, and therefore thinks it's a conflict? I've been using dropbox for years and never had this before. Any ideas on how to solve it? I'm using a mac with Ventura 13.6.4. I also have dropbox installed on an iPhone, if that might be causing this somehow.746Views0likes27CommentsLinking file/directory structure to third-party apps
Dropbox to have a feature that could list the filenames in Excel/Google sheet/Words. To be more advanced, the filenames in the list can be directly linked to the files itself. Something like an Index. Each time a file is inserted/deleted into/from the dropbox folder, it will automatically update the list/index115Views0likes1CommentFiles getting deleted after I save them and exit the third party app I used
On several occasions in the past couple of years, I will be looking for a CAD file (TURBOCAD) I have saved in my dropbox file and it is not there. I then check DropBox deleted files on-line and it is shows as deleted around the time I exited the program. On one specific file I've been working on this has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks. DropBox says they can't delete files, but I certainly didn't delete them, and there was no warning that came up asking if I want to delete the file. I've tried saving the file under an different name, but this still has happened. This makes me question continue use of DropBox. Any thoughts or solutions?247Views0likes1CommentI deleted photos from Lightroom and now I can't see them on Dropbox either

Tablet Galaxy Tab A8: Android version 13 Dropbox app version: 320.2.10 MS word version: 1.0.1 (16.0.16227.20132) I have signed out and signed in, un-installed and re-installed, updated everything to latest versions, restarted everything.4.1KViews1like13Comments"save as" in Dropbox
Hi I am setting up a database that will be stored in Dropbox. I have created it in excel for the web. One of the things the users will do is create a new doc and save that to a specific folder. I have created a doc, let's call it "datasheet". The user needs to use the doc and then add data to the datasheet and save it under a different name. Trying to make it as simple as possible but it is so easy for them to save it and it overrides the original file. I have a link in the excel database that opens the doc. I have instructions for them to "open with" word for the web but I can't see where to "save as" the doc to a new name. What is the simplest way for someone to open the original, enter the data and then save that file with a different name leaving the original as is? Any suggestions?621Views0likes1Comment
