22 TopicsResolution of mov and mp4 files
Using Apple Keynote, I have created a rather large mov presentation that includes voice audio. There are a couple of png graphs imported to a couple of slides of the presentation. The main text on the slides is very clear. Even a couple of gif files on some slides are clear; however, neither of the two png imported graphs are clear. I cannot easily read the axes values, labels, or the graphs' titles. This is true if I view the mov files via my iPads or my Windows 10 PC. Is this a common problem with mov and mp4 files uploaded to cloud services like DropBox? If it would be helpful, I can include a link to the mov file. Thanks for any help.18Views0likes2CommentsGreen checkmark with white background explanation
I have seen the official meaning: "A circle with a green border and a green checkmark means that a file was opened (directly or with a third-party application) and synced," but what does that mean in contrast to: "A solid green circle with a white checkmark means your file is synced and available offline"? If I want a set of files to be both available online and offline, shouldn't that result in a solid green icon? Why are most "A circle with a green border and a green checkmark" and only a couple solid green? I thought maybe it had to do with opening the file on the same device or perhaps opening it on another device, but it made no difference to which files are assigned a solid green background versus white. I'm very confused.775Views0likes4CommentsShared links returning old content!
Hi, I've used shared links forever, and I have many. I use Dropbox API to upload files to replace older files. Usually, the link which was structured like this: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/<token>/path.jpg?rlkey=<token>&dl=1 Usually would offer the newest version of that file immediately. Lately, some links offer the latest content, and some offer arbitrary older content. It's not cache, since I am trying to access these files in a multitude of ways. curl, python, servers pulling files. When I try to make a new shared link, now it has a new structure: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/<token>/path.jpg?rlkey=<token>&st=<whatever this is>&dl=1 However after generating a new link, the old link still offers the old arbitrary content. The new link works for a bit, but then offers old content again. I've tried reading all of the forums, but I can't find anyone with the same issue I have. What is the new st value? and why do some of my old links still update when they get a new version and others don't? Please advise asap! Thank you!798Views0likes1CommentMore Features For Musicians
Hello! I use dropbox daily! And as a fail safe for my files!!! Here are some things I’d like to see implemented 1. A way to create and share playlists of albums and EPs with high quality playback options 2. Auto Play the next file in the folder, if playlisting is not an option I definitely feel like dropbox could be the next best thing for musicians if the right features get added. I had a problem where my (Windows desktop) dropbox was stuck syncing 43 files for 2 days meaning nothing else was synced up or down during. On another thread I found the suggestion to sign out and sign in again. Which I did. And that did fix that problem. But I was left with a different problem. I now cannot automatically open any file which is currently "online only". I am told it is corrupted, unavailable or cannot be accessed by the system depending on the type of file it is. This applies to every online file I have tried - of numerous types and sizes. Every file has opened without issue if I manually set it to "make available offline" first, but that is a pain and was not necessary previously. This did not happen before I signed out and in again. Online files were automatically downloaded and opened. How do I get back to the behaviour again? Similarly I do not have a "Make online-only" on the right click menu. I know some of these feature have been removed from preferences, but the online help says this right-click option is still present and the features pages strongly imply you can choose to make something online only. So how do I get that option back?Solved2.6KViews0likes11CommentsSync icon missing in finder
Hi, I use to see sync icons in the finder on my mac. Now the dropbox app on my computer is not showing these icons, so it's very hard to tell what is synced locally versus what is synced online only. Did dropbox do away with these tools? Also, did the dropbox app change? It now feels like it's just buried in my finder, whereas it use to be a stand alone application.Solved2KViews0likes6CommentsPrevent File Sharing
I have Dropbox Plus and it has come to my attention that the link I sent to one individual was copied and sent to an individual I did not give access to. That individual is able to view my documents without my permission. How do I prevent this from happening?Solved5.5KViews0likes9Comments
