Agreed. I would like to get an ARM device, and so, I'm going to have make a choice - do I convert to OneDrive or do I wait for Dropbox (who has got thousands of dollars off me over the years) to catch up on ARM? If I know Dropbox is working on it and expects to get something out within a few months, I'll wait. If Dropbox does the usual poor "no comment" communication you get from many software companies, then I will seriously consider dropping away from Dropbox as I'm sure many others are also considering.
I just bought a new computer, and I didn't even know that it had a special processor, Arm. Well, it seems that Dropbox does't go very well with that yet:

So my question is... will there be an application developed for arm as well? I depend on Dropbox as I am sharing a lot of things with people, and I think it would create to much fuzz to force them into other solutions, such as Google Drive or similar.
If there are no plans for a "Dropbox on arm" in the near future, I will go back with my computer and get a different one.
Thanks for any help in this issue!
Hey @TobiasBerg, thanks for sharing your feedback with us here!
Currently, the desktop app is indeed incompatible with ARM processors, but you can still use the website and the Dropbox for S mode app on your device.
You can also have a look at this thread where users are posting their interest and upvoting the idea for compatibility with ARM processors.
I understand that this may not be the ideal reply you were looking for, but I hope it helps to some extent.

my whole issue is the fact that i have a windows desktop, a surface pro, a macbook pro, and iphones that all need to be integrated together with dropbox. Mainly, i need something compatible with both macintosh and windows... would one drive even do that for us?
Hi Walter and other dropboxers
Any update on this ARM processor device desktop app issue now we are in 2020... Like many others I'm desperately wanting you to make this change so I don't have to switch to OneDrive. The Dropbx for S mode is hopeless for highly mobile workers who can't rely on strong wifi connections...we need local copies of folders....
Can you explain where this is in the dropbox development team's priorities? If soon to be addressed I will wait ... if not I'm cancelling my sub to dropbix business and moving...
thanks
Hi @P_Bell.
Unfortunately, no updates on this. The Dropbox desktop app isn’t compatible with ARM processors.
If we have relevant updates, we will update this thread to let all of you know.
Thank you for your interest and feedback.

Howdy Fiona / Walter,
I'm afraid we're another company (I manage IT for several companies within a Holdings company) that is seeking to leverage full mobility for our crews. We rolled out our office personnel tech strategy this past fall that included a Surface Pro 6 with docking peripherals for workstations with external monitors. Dropbox For Business is our cloud file storage solution. The rollout was very successful and recevied very positive feedback.
Our next wave of devices was delivered last week for our field crews utilizing the Microsoft Surface X with LTE ( no LTE option on Surface 6 Pro or 7 Pro) along with Dropbox For Business. When I prepared the devices for configuration I was not expecting to come across a Dropbox S Mode only option. Dropbox S Mode is an inferior product as it does not include business critical features such as:
• Smart Sync
• Shortcut option in File Explorer
• Intuitive drag 'n drop functionality
This particular company has 2TB of internal company data, which we've used the Smart Sync feature in the past to be efficient with our data footprints. I connected with Microsoft's Advanced Technical Support, Windows Support, and Surface Support to confirm there isn't a work around when under Properties > Compatibility. Our devices are not in S-Mode (running Windows 10 Pro, version 1909) however your installer (online version and offline (dropbox.com/downloading)) continues to error out due to the reference of the SQ1 ARM processor.
We have 3 active Dropbox For Business company accounts, and we're planning to add more Business accounts for our other companies as we continue to update our technology strategies. I've had my case escalated to your Advanced Team, but I cannot stress enough how critical making this adjustment is for our companies and clearly other companies that are seeking mobile first workflows for their team's digital infrastructure.
Please advise with any new developments so I can reset expectations for the new device rolllouts.
Thanks,
-Eric
