Dropbox 58.4.92 constantly crashes on macOS 10.12.6

Dropbox 58.4.92 constantly crashes on macOS 10.12.6

I noticed around Sep 21, 2018 that the Dropbox app was consistently crashing. Re-launching gets it back up and running, but eventually it crashes (or perhaps automatically quits).

I would say it was at least a few hours after re-launching that the crashing occurs. Usually runs long enough for it to go off my radar.

I just rebooted the computer. The problem has returned.

As noted in the subject line, I am running Dropbox 58.4.92 on macOS 10.12.6.

I am assuming a recent automatic update is the culprit. I've changed nothing significant on my computer in the past 3 months.

Hi George, could you try doing an advanced reinstall to see if that helps?

The problem seems to have cleared itself up, so far at least. Thank you.

This issue returned. I just did the advanced reinstall.

Could you forward a screenshot of how it crashes? Do you get an error log, does it close silently, or some other behavior?

Silently.

Usually what happens is that I noticed it wasn't running because an app I use to edit text files saved in my Dropbox folder has out of date documents in the listing.

I just start to realize that files I know I just edited are not appearing at the top of my "Sort by Modified" listings, and then discover Dropbox has not been running for some time.

Since the advancved re-install, not seeing Dropbox crash (or quit, or whatevr it was doing). But even before the reinstall, it could run for days or even a week or so without issue.

I'm glad to send an error log if you let me know where to find it.

Thanks again.
