Did you tried downloading the document to your computer and opening it once downloaded? Once you finished working on it, you can send it to dropbox again.

Hi @EyvindurEinar & @Drachea Rannak, I hope you're both doing well!

Can I ask your app's syncing status and version @EyvindurEinar

Also, is Microsoft Office up to date as well?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there.

Hi!

The word documents in question are online only and I usually sync them to my computer first, thats no problem.

However, when I open said document after I sync it, thats when dropbox "quits unexpectedly" and every time I choose "Restart Dropbox" it crashes again until I close the word document. Every time I try to open a word document AFTER I sync it to my computer it still crashes Dropbox (I could take a video of it if I could show you)

I just bought an office pack, and I just checked it its up to date!

My dropbox version is: Version 126.4.4618 (126.4.4618)

I might add I'm not using the dropbox app to open the files, just the folder in my Finder

Thank you for all the amazing details, @EyvindurEinar

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the Dropbox app?

If I were you, I'd give it a go.

Thanks for reporting back @EyvindurEinar!

Have you tried carrying out an advanced reinstall?

Just remember, if you're on a Basic (free) account, due to the three device limit, you'll have to make sure that you've got less than three devices already connected to continue.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes, cheers!
