Tried OS X and all its updates right through to El Capitan - still no dropbox in Finder. Will there be a fix soon?
Hello Fiona, do you mean under Favourites, in the Finder sidebar?
If so, the Dropbox folder is easily returned to that location by dragging it there.
Hi Robert, thats great in theory, except it doesn't work. I have read it elsewhere that it doesn't work and other have tried it. So I'm back to square one. No way to access dropbox in finder and use in on my computer. I need my files at my fingertips to work and its really distressing me. Im considering getting a windows based computer and tossing the mac. Its that distressing.
Hi Robert, thats great in theory, except it doesn't work.
So, the question is, what are you doing differently to my little demo?

Hi Robert, I drag it and it doesn't stay there. Dropbox doesn't open at all. it doesn't work the same as in the video.
Hold down the Command-key (⌘) during the drag.
It is staying there now. But it won't open, so still no dropbox that is usable.
Please define what you mean by 'won't open'.
The Dropbox folder is simply that, just a folder. If it's present and highlighted under Favourites in the Finder sidebar, then it is open.
If possible, in order for me to see what you can see could you please post a screen grab.
Hi Robert, every other tab on finder opens but dropbox - nothing. No screen shot to grab it doesn't do anything - it just won't open. Nothing. I wonder if my mac is too old - late 2011 with OS x El Capitan. Nothing in i-photo either. All gone. Wish I had never upgraded.
