Solved

I have an issue where my desktop app won't open. Can you help?

Every time I click on the Dropbox app installed on my desktop, it keeps redownloading the same version (55.4.171). The message starts with "Downloading Dropbox." Once that is loaded, the next message shows: "Installing Dropbox and Dropbox Update." Once that finishes, I get a notification that my app has been updated with the version above. However, the app never opens.

    Hey there TessaSzalk29!

In order to further investigate on this, I’d recommend proceeding via email due to account-specific info required to troubleshoot.

Having said that, I was able to locate your open request from my side and I can see that it’s under review by a specialized member of the team. When they have more info, they will get back to you via email. Rest assured, they will do their best to assist you.

    Cheers!

I downloaded the updated version of Dropbox, but when I went back to my applications and clicked on the Dropbox icon, the application will not open.

Did you do all of the other parts first - deleting the hidden files etc.?

I completed #1-4; however, I received the message "Directory not empty" when I inputted the line of code "sudo mv ~/.dropbox ~/.Trash/dropbox.old". Is this an issue?
