Notification Badge in Menubar Icon - How Do I Make It Go Away?
Hi. I'm running Dropbox v121.4.4267 on Mac OS High Sierra. I don't if something happened with an automatic update. Now, I'm getting something I haven't seen before. I, suddenly, have a red badge on the icon in my menubar and I don't know why it's there. I can't figure out how to make it go away. I don't have any notifications so I don't know what it's trying to tell me. How do I get rid of it?
Thanks.

Hey Cerebro, wishing you a great Tuesday!
Have you tried to click on the icon to open the Dropbox window, then go to the Notifications tab?
Do you see any unread notifications there?
Keep me posted. - epski4 years agoNew member | Level 2
I'm having the same issue. There are no notifications anywhere. I've even turned off the badge preference in Dropbox Preferences, though it's unclear they are related. Still nothing. It's annoying seeing a new item notification and have it signify nothing. I may have to remove Dropbox from my computer if there is no resolution.

Figured it out. I switched accounts to my business Dropbox and there was a notification of a new spam message from... Dropbox. Awesome. At least I got rid of it.

I'm having this issue too. The alert is that Dropbox for MacOS is available.
However even after I click through "Get Started" and go through the upgrade steps, it comes right back. I am running v165.4.4300
Any ideas?

Hey JimFuoco, thanks for letting us know about this.
Have you tried to restart both your computer and the Dropbox application, to see if that helps?

Yes, multiple times.

Hi JimFuoco, can I send you an email in order for us to have a closer look into this?

Yes, no problem. Can you pull my email from my account? Or if not, how can I DM you my email address?

Hey Megan, following up on this. Happy to continue over email.
