Backup and Sync System Requirements

I have a MacBook Pro 2012 running Mac OS 10.9.5 and also a iPad 2nd generation running the most current iOS. How can I backup all my data 700GB to Dropbox?  Can I just go direct from my MacBook Pro or can I connect my MacBook Pro to my iPad then somehow draw the data through my iPad then up to the Dropbox Cloud?   Google Drive and iCloud don’t support my MacBook anymore. I just thought of this plan to use my iPad so I haven’t run this by Google or Apple.

Neither of those devices meet the minimum requirements to install the Dropbox apps.

The Dropbox desktop app requires macOS Yosemite 10.10 or higher, but you may still be able to access your account through the Dropbox website. For the iPad, it won't be possible. The latest possible iOS version for the 2nd Gen iPad is 9.3.5, and the Dropbox app for iOS requires at least iOS 12.
