Can't pause syncing on macOS Monterey

Can't pause syncing on macOS Monterey

lkfraboni

I'm on macOS Monterey 12.4 and am in Canada on vacation where there is a very slow internet. I'm trying to pause syncing because it is dominating the internet band with uploading all my huge, raw Canon photos. Following the instructions, I noticed that when in DropBox, I am actually in the Apple Finder App so I don't see the menu options for DropBox that is described in the pause instructions. I'm computer literate, and have tried everything I know, but can't open the app where I see the app's menu. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Lorinda

Hey @lkfraboni, thanks for reaching out to our Community!

To pause syncing, firstly, you'll need to locate your Dropbox icon. It should be in your menu bar, by the WiFi icon.

Have you located that? If so, you should be able to pause syncing, by clicking on the sync status, as described in the steps here.

Do you see something else on your end?

Keep me posted.

Hannah!  You're my hero!  Thank you sooooo much!  I worked on PC's for years and switched to Mac in 2018 but am no where near where I was on the PC and this was just toooooo easy.  Thank you so much!

Also, that specificity should be in the drop box help instructions on how to pause.  I was on the other side of the screen by the Apple icon no the side where the wifi icon was.  It was so easy once I knew where to look.  I suppose Apple keeps changing where things are so it's hard to keep up....

Grazie Mille! That's Italian for "Thanks a million!"
