"can't redirect into reparse point, please choose a different target path" .. I get this message when attempting to restore my desktop file location to c\user\name\desktop How do i get Dropbox to return control of the desktop to the user.?.. C:\Copies from Dropbox\My PC (DESKTOP-EIOOMTB)\Desktop is the current location... i am completely confused about how Drobox has mangled my filing..
Hello Thrumby,
I am not sure if I understand your question correctly but I think it's the operating system issue - not Dropbox itself. Please can you try to uinstall dropbox application from the Windows from Control panel and after that can you remove all files related to dropbox (don't worry about your files, it's in the cloud 🙂 ) --> restart your computer --> install dropbox again in location that you need, you have to choose correct location for you during installation wizard process. Please let us know if it helped.

You enabled the computer backup feature, which moves the Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders into Dropbox so they sync with your account.
Thanks everybody.. I will attempt to follow the instructions... See how it goes!!!
