Where is my Dropbox file?
I've been getting messages that my Dropbox is full and not syncing. I had uploaded one large file to Dropbox a few years ago and had done nothing else.
I've decided I should try to download this file and move it to a local HDD I have. But Dropbox says I have NO files ... and I don't see anything in "Deleted files". (I did not delete the file ... I'm wondering if Dropbox did, though. If so, wouldn't Dropbox have informed me?)
So ... where's my file, Dropbox?
... Mike
If it's been over a year since you logged into the account, then it means that your account was most likely deactivated by Dropbox due to inactivity.
Unfortunately, this means that it wouldn't be possible to recover the old account or the files within that account.

What does www.dropbox.com/events show?

I don't know what/where "Dropbox events" is. I searched for it in the Dropbox search window, and "0 results" came back. Can you direct me to it?
Thanks,... Mike

Hey almadenmike, you can find your events page through the link that Mark posted in his previous reply.
You can access it here as well: https://www.dropbox.com/events

Ooof!! Thanks. Don't know why I didn't recognize that as a link.
It says:
>>EventsYou have no activity yet
<<
Which doesn't seem right. Has Dropbox wiped out my file? - Jay2 years ago

Hi almadenmike, if the events page is empty, it means there were no changes made on your account recently.
You mentioned that you uploaded your file to Dropbox years ago. When was the last time you accessed your account before now? Was it over 12 months ago?

It could well have been over 12 months ago that I last accessed the account. I created it as a place to store a large video file. I hope there's a way to find/recover it ... so I can move it to my extra HDD.

Bummer. What a sad ending to the file I put on Dropbox.
Thanks for your attention to this.
