Hello,
I have installed vanilla Windows 10 64-bit and the Dropbox app keeps crashing all the time. No error message is shown. The processes just end and the tray icon disappears when I hover over it. I tried the steps provided in this thread but with no succes. My hardware info is here.

Hi all,
During the past 3 years, my DropBox desk app has been working well on my laptop. But for some weeks now, I get this error message:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: Dropbox.exe Application Version: 40.4.46.0 Application Timestamp: 5a25f0d7 Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.3.9600.16408 Fault Module Timestamp: 523d45fa Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0001c12c OS Version: 6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 5861 Additional Information 2: 5861822e1919d7c014bbb064c64908b2 Additional Information 3: 01d7 Additional Information 4: 01d7340064827245f2249cd1f1a7c264
I get it both when updating or new installation. What is weird is that I have nothing new (firewall, software, etc.) on my laptop that may interfere with DropBox.
I'm using Windows 8.1.
This is the same issue as exposed on this thread (but it has no solution):

This version of Dropbox does not work in Linux and it completely failes to use newer browsers for login. Without proper testing, company has launched this version in a hurry. Tried multiple browsers for sign in to Linux OS. Nothing is working. Kindly fix this serious bug soon or else, kindly allow users to use old version in which sign in was inside the app. Thanks.
- nicocasel8 years agoHelpful | Level 5I have managed to fix this: I ran all Windows Update items that were on hold for some months. Then, updating Dropbox in its latest version (40.4.46) worked perfectly.

Did you run all the latest Windows Updates?
- Timur M.8 years agoHelpful | Level 5
@nicocasel,
No, I didn't. In fact, I can't because my internet connection is both metered and comparatively slow (3MB/s). Is it because of that? This error has first appeared somewhere during the summer of this year.
