Solved

Sign-in Failed. Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later. [iOS 11, iPad Air]

Setting up a clean install of iOS 11.03 on an iPad Air.

I'm trying to sign-in to Dropbox, with two-factor authentication.

  1. I enter my username and password Get the SMS with the 6 digit code. Enter
  2. Get the SMS with the 6 digit code. Enter
  3. Enter the code, and get the error message: "Sign-in Failed. Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later."
  4. I get an e-mail from Dropbox confirming a new login from an iPad, and wanting me to confirm it is me.

I have tried 8 times, rebooted iPad, uninstalled/reinstalled Dropbox. No luck.

It's really annoying since I need Dropbox to get into my 1Password account, to set up a bunch of other accounts.

  • Maybe this was a temporary glitch? I just tried again and am now logged in.

I'm seeing a similar issue on a fresh iPhone, iOS 11.

    - I'm using Google Authenticator for the 2-factor authentication codes.
    - Login fails with "Sign-in Failed. Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later."
    - I don't get any emails from Dropbox about new logins.

Just tried, and it worked here also. So yes, probably a temporary glitch.

Just to try and keep things tidy (and so in future others dont use this thread) I'm going to close it. If you need any more help in the future please do start a new one though!
