Seeking Guidance: Reverting Converted Files from Microsoft format (.docx) to Google files (.gdoc)

We're reaching out to seek guidance on a particular challenge we're facing with our Dropbox files. Due to an automatic conversion process, our files are currently in Microsoft formats. Unfortunately, this has posed an issue as we aim to migrate these files to Google Drive before the March 1st deadline.

Our objective is to ensure seamless collaboration and accessibility for our team members, and we believe that storing our files in Google Drive would better align with our workflow. We are looking to have the files move to Google Drive (GDrive) and replace them with Dropbox shortcuts.

Hey @RK111, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community!

If you follow these steps, does the site allow you to undo the conversion?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

Hey @Hannah, thanks for the swift response

Unfortunately, the steps provided don't allow for undoing the conversion.

I see, thanks for the update, @RK111.

If you go through each file's version history, is it allowing you to restore the files to their previous version?

@Hannah I appreciate your suggestion to go through each file's version history to restore previous versions. However, considering the large volume of files we're dealing with, going through them individually would be quite challenging and time-consuming.

Does it work as a process in general?

Because if it does, you could do an account rollback with Dropbox Rewind to achieve this (assuming you're on a paid plan).
